Voth vs Fowler

If we're worried about the Seahawks shouldn't we be even more worried about the team good enough  to beat them?

people don't think through this. They let their fear of a team we already beat in their own home do the thinking for them.

We are the toughest and most dangerous team in the league.  we are king of the hill. Let's start acting like it.

I don't care who we play.  I'll enjoy watching what I can of the games.  I'm all for getting whoever in here and winning.  That's all.  Each team has it's match up problems.  Minny has AP.  Washington has Cousins who can play captain check down all day.  Seattle has Wilson and the Legion of Yawnnnn.

In the playoffs, everyone is good.  So bring them in, and lets play some football, Panther Football.

i don't care too much who we play.... we've beaten all 3 of our possible divisional round opponents already!  I understand those who want the easiest route possible... just get a WIN baby...

But personally, I kind of want us to play & beat the best.  I've been saying for awhile that I'd like to see us beat Seattle, AZ & NE to leave no doubt that we are the best team in the NFL this year.  The greatness of our wins would be enhanced by the greatness of our opponents.  Also, as someone else posted above, the CAR - SEA / Cam - Wilson rivalry is becoming something special, and would get a lot of attention.  I like the idea of a rematch and revenge for last year's playoff loss...

But if SEA loses, I will enjoy their pain and look forward to beating GB or Wash once again.

Wife loves Vikings so I'm rooting for them with her this weekend.

I did feel dirty cheering on Seattle last week.

I'm sitting really close to where we sat last year for this game Sunday. I said I'd never go to a game in the cold again but a few buddies are Vikes fans so I'll just blackout and dress appropriately this time.

Sadistic! I don't think I would ever put myself through that type of punishment ever again. Good on you bro, I hope you get to jump in a hot tub after the game. I will definitely return there once they get into the new dome stadium.

Eh the NFL is about matchups. Of course I'd rather play Minnesota. They're a run heavy team, and we have a good track record against power running backs.

I'm not afraid of Seattle. We already beat them in their house, but to not root for the best opportunity to win is just silly. That's like saying we should have tanked our last several games, so we can go in as a the lowest seed possible to prove how awesome we are by winning on the road.

I think Seattle is a hotter team than MN right now, but any team still playing is there for a reason (although the Skins are there by default ;) ).  Point being, every team is talented enough to put up a fight - if the Panthers play their A game, they will hoist the Lombardi IMHO.

The one matchup I am pulling for is against the Pats in the SB.  The 2003 loss still stings worse than any sports loss I've ever experienced, and it makes it that much worse to know they possibly cheated.  The Pats are the team of this generation, and I think it would be that much sweeter to beat them for the trophy.

I think Seattle goes to the bowl again so if Minnesota can somehow pull off the upset I'll be ecstatic.

This whole "we ain't scared" thing is for the players that are actually playing in the game and not for the people who will be sitting on their couches. Whether or not you couch potatoes are scared means jack sh*t. There's nothing wrong with hoping for a team to lose, especially one you don't think your team matches up well with.

This^^^ I am still in mourning for 2003.

Yeah I hold grudges a long time.  What about it? ;-)

I've dreamt about the Panthers crushing Tom Terrific and his band of Merry Men in a Super Bowl rematch every night for the last 12 years.

    • Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB.  4  6  5  4  6  4  15  2  9  4  3  5  2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5  1  4  1  3  1  1  2  3  4  [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.
    • I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell.    I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
    • From where they were one year ago to now, pretty incredible. I mean, say what you want about Vrabel he is no Jerrod Mayo.
