Are we the first 15-1/1 seed team that has been widely predicted to not make the SB?

NFL.com has a article "who will win the NFC" with Carson Palmer's and Rusell Wilson's photos.. All I hear is how "Seahawks are the most dangerous team." Or how "Cardinals are the most well rounded team in the NFC." Can anyone actually name one time th last several days where any high profile outlets or sports analysts actually predict we would win the NFC and make the SB?

All the ones I hear are predicting Seattle or Arizona.. I can atleast kind of understand picking Seattle since they are more of a proven commodity and have made the big dance already twice in a row but how is Arizona clearly the favorite over us?!

Has there ever been a time where a 1 seed and/or 15-1 team WITH a MVP QB and 10 pro bowlers have been completely looked over to make the SB?! Seriously, name one high profile outlet or sports analyst that actually predict us to make the SB?

I cannot think of single time a 1 seed has been so widely overlooked before like we have.

I'm wondering if we would be the first 15-1 team to be a home underdog for both its playoff games.  If Seattle thumps Minnesota they will probably be favored and if we end up hosting Arizona they might be favored as well.  That's got to be unprecedented.

The "media" won't make as much money or sell as many headlines if Carolina wins.  We don't move the needle, so they talk about teams that do.  Nothing would be better to see Seattle as 3-peat NFC Champions and knock the Panthers off their high horse.  Or to have old man Palmer lead his team to the promise land after so many injuries and years coming up short. Honestly, if the status quo still bothers you.....you're better off not even reading another article.

    • Anybody got a clue what this is supposed to mean? 🤔
    • I figured as much. Hopefully he's just resting up and will be ready for round 3 (if we make it that far.)  Sucks to see. Hes been our best defender (besides Slavin) in the playoffs so far.
    • I've never bought into the idea. There's just too much at stake, even for front office people. Jobs are lost, trust is lessened, lives are altered, reputations are damaged and more. Throw in that the average front office person isn't as young as the average player. They may not have ten years ahead of them to salvage their careers. Any given year could be their last. The only person not guaranteed to suffer some direct form of consequence from losing is the owner, and even there you still have problems (fan reaction, team reputation, revenue, etc). You've also got massive egos in play on that front so it can get personal. Mind you, I do accept that there are "fire sales" in order to build for the future, but even those have consequences. They don't exactly guarantee success either. Poorly run teams often just wind up in the same circumstance a few years down the road. Sorry gus, but my tinfoil hat just hasn't fit me for quite a while.
