I guess Bruce and Carson are pretty upset over that botched call yesterday... my advice to them would be to stand in line.http://www.espn.com/blog/arizona-cardinals/post/_/id/23054/carson-palmer-felt-fumble-was-an-obvious-pass

what has Bruce's excuse for both his lines being utterly dominated the majority of the game.  I would think a reasonable person would assume that had much more to do with the outcome of the game than a iffy call.

I mean, let's be real that was a bad call. The ball spiraled as it came out, didn't show an open hand, and David Johnson was in the area. It was clearly an incomplete pass. The ref said he didn't review it because it came down from the league office that it was a fumble.

I thought it was a pass when the play happened. I was at the game so we did not see the replay until after the extra point. I kept watching and waiting for the ref to blow the whistle to review it but then when they kicked the extra point I was shocked.

When they did show the replay my only thought of why ruled a fumble it appeared that Star grabbed Palmer's arm so while the intent may be a pass it was inconclusive that maybe the official wasn't sure if it was a pass or Star caused the fumble and went with play called on field. That's the only possible explanation I could think of.

Referee performance seems to really be heading downhill in a hurry. If I was the NFL, I would look to find a way to be proactive instead of reactive. But that would require the NFL admitting that their refs were wrong, and we all know that will happen...

Best way to solve this issue is to have full time, instead of part time, refs.  They mess up too much and they're gone if they that is their primary job.

they called the same thing on the texans and brock last week. Maybe its just a rule change we don't know about yet?

It's a corrected re-interpretation of a rule to accommodate Rivera's & other coaches' complaint last off season about QB's "incomplete pass" to receivers blocking & not even looking for it to avoid sacks & an intentional grounding penalty. Call it the 'Russell Wilson phenomena'.

Quote

In the NFL Rule Book, intentional grounding occurs when "a passer, facing an imminent loss of yardage because of pressure from the defense, throws a forward pass without a realistic chance of completion."Sep 28, 2014

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
