Luke's 2nd concussion in two years....

Don't know what the outcome of this will be. He has said that he would retire before getting a permanent brain scramble. Not saying he will or should consider it, but if he gets his bell rung again..:who knows.  He just broke down and went to pieces unlike anything I have seen before. Sit him the rest of 2016 if need be. Don't take the risk of forcing a third incident that may force his hand.

This team is just about done anyway. Don't end a HOF type career to try and salvage a lost season.

He most likely broke into tears from that huge hit, his body was in shock. Best case he has the Alex Smith case where he really doesn't have a concussion but is in protocol from the way the hit looked, but worst case he's out for Seattle and Raiders, and maybe more.

If he got a concussion idk how looked like he got the wind knocked out of him badly. No replay showed any hit to the helmet. Confusing

back of his helmet as he fell down.  It's scary that a hit like that could cause a concussion...meaning this could be something that could become more regular for him.  We might be smart to lock down Klein in the offseason.  Regardless, I pray he's alright, if he stays healthy, he will make it to canton.

Honestly he is a ferocious player. This is the price you can pay as a warrior. Luke is about as perfect a player you can ask for. But this is also reality. Football is a violent ass game.

I pray he's alright and hope he never suffers this kind of thing again. But you really can't blame him if it's a concussion and he considers leaving the game (He won't). But he's already a millionaire and among the all time greats even now. He doesn't have to prove poo.

A former player of ours comes to mind

Need not say his nam

Sadly, the first thought that came to mind. If you watched the '03 Bowl, you might have heard his name a time or two. Concussions can really mess with your emotions and have unpredictable actions. I think emphasizing his crying was unfortunate, because it was either a man terrified he had suffered one or some type of response to the trauma.

Is it official news?

Say what you want about the NFL, the protocol has probably helped a lot of guys brains.

Its not the concussions that turn your brain to mush. It's the repeated hits to the head after a concussion has happened. Luke will probably be out for at least 3-4 weeks, but should be ok long term.

That being said, I'd sure like to see a better angle of how he looked on the play right before. If he got concussed on that play and then got hit again immediately following, that could be very bad. It looked like he just got his toe stepped on so I am holding out hope.

    • If you're looking for a pat on the back it sounds good in theory until you realize they also had the 2023 Panthers as the top draft class.
    • Going into the 2003 and 2015 seasons we were supposed to be the joke of the league each time. In 2003, John Fox was supposed to still be in rebuild mode. We had a guy named Peppers on the defensive line who was supposed to be pretty good. We had Rodney Peete as our starting QB and a line that was a lot of hope and not much experience. Our new running back was a guy the Redskins, errrr Commanders, had jettisoned for being too old. We had a good kicker and writers thought that was needed because there were going to be more field goals than touch downs. Heck, it looked like they were right up until just before halftime of that first game when we had to yank Rodney Peete and put in some Cajun duded whose name couldn't be pronounced. And Steve Smith? He wasn't Smitty yet. Moose Muhammad, well, he was close to being written off as a bust. You know how that turned out. And then in 2015, we had Cam Newton, who was electrifying to watch but hadn't really won anything yet. There was an offensive line in front of him that looked like it was made in a defunct Swiss cheese factory and our big hope on offense was the great Kelvin Benjamin. And then he got taken out for the year with a knee injury in training camp. Ted "Feet of Lightning, Hands of Stone" Ginn became our default go to guy beside our next best hope, yeah, Devin Funchess. Our defense was pretty good, a scrappy bunch with frikkin' awesome linebacker play and a cornerback who had done more than drank the Kool-Aid, but had snorted the powder. He played like a superhero and became sort of a bat-man during the season. By the Super Bowl he had completely lost his freaking mind, though, and managed to talk his way out of a contract with the team next year. No one was expecting us to win the NFCSouth that season, much less almost go undefeated and into the Super Bowl. So, 2026? Who knows? But our best seasons came when no one had a reason to believe in us, except us.
    • it's not so much this personal vendetta against the Carolina Panthers as it is more about Bryce Young never not once been in the same conversation with the top 15 or even top 20 Qbs in the NFL ..just saying
