What in the Hell is Wrong With Our Secondary?

The Air Raid happened.

John Morton played a beautiful game. Punched us with the right playcalls to counter our aggressive blitzing and hit us at our weaknesses.

Knew it was a mismatch from the start despite the lack of talent the Jets possess. They have an OC who can get it done.

I still feel worley will get better ...he makes some really bad mistakes but plays good a lot of the time....we are blitzing a lot more putting more pressure on the young cbs if the blitz doesn't get home....they will get better!

I wanted to say this. Oh well, third place again.

I would not have believed McCown could take advantage of our blitzes as well as he did. That was unexpected. From me anywho.

Like Norman?....thanks gettleman

Letting norman go was the start of an avalanche for our secondary . There really arent that many intimdating shut down CBs in the game, if you have one don't fuging cut the dude!! still pissed about that.

One thing I noticed about Bradberry is that he’s had quite a few moments where he won’t turn around and play the ball when he’s thrown to on a deep route. I just pray he doesn’t cost us with a PI in a big game.

I really wish we would’ve kept Norman, as Bradberry is a good #2 guy and Worley shouldn’t be on the team or he should be used as depth. I doubt he amounts to much of anything

What pisses me off the most is that I'm positive Norman would come back in a heartbeat. Dumbest move Gman ever made.

Either while down 12 in the 4th quarter or right after we got the defensive TD the next possession he drew up two straight run plays that both went for -1. Can't remember if that was the drive that they wound up punting on that we returned for the TD or the next one where McCown scrambled for a long first down after but regardless those were terrible playcalls. All the Jets fans around me at the game were whining about Morton just like we do about Shula around here.

Worley sucks but I don’t get why bradberry gets a pass.  He’s been awful at times this year. His propensity to face guard and not get his head around will cost us a PI at the worst time eventually this year. And I don’t ever see him being a INT guy. Kinda hard to intercept any pass with your back to the ball.

Coleman is not talked about nearly enough he use to be a interception machine. What happened to him? I hardly see him anymore.

This season

One PBU, no Int, no Sacks, 29 tackles, 16 assists, no FF

2016

7 PBU, 4 ints, 1 sack, 66 tackles, 29 assists, 1 FF

2015

9 PBU, 7 Ints, 1 sack, 55 tackles, 35 assists, no FF

Norman took a third of the field away and let TD, Luke, and Harper to roam the underneath without having to worry about Norman's area. Coleman was set at FS playing deep center field while favoring the side of the field away from Norman. Coleman rarely was seen in underneath coverage. There was a very tight window to hit on the opposite sideline from Norman, and it was the only area for the QB to attack (even Brees). Coleman just had to wait for the overthrow in 2015.

Now, the Panthers do not have a CB that can even command the sideline outside the hashes. The result is the safeties and LBs have to cover more of the field compared to 2015.
