Andrew Norwell is the only lineman in the entire NFL that never allowed his QB to be touched this season

How can you not sign this man. The pain, the rage, the will to tear you limb from limb, you just know it's going to hurt when he hits you.

Voth believes he plays somewhere else next year.

that would be stupid imho.

if we let norwell go, that's our best offensive weapon behind cam going on the street. personally feel we need to do everything we can to keep him to avoid this offense from being a catastrophe.

I'd agree, but that doesn't mean it'll happen.

'twas me indeed.

He was overrated.

That said, I'll eat my crow and say he's done the best job of any of our OL this season, and obviously any LG in the league.

To be fair, though, we did get him some help on the outside with Matt Kalil, despite people being overly critical of him, and our Center play has been better this year than last (up until last game, at least.)

I fully expect he'll get paid. I dunno if it will be here, but if it isn't, I don't expect him to be so good elsewhere.

The truth is, ultimately, interior linemen have been a dime a dozen the past 10 years or so. As teams move away from the run game more, the position is devalued. You need guys on the outside that can stop the edge rush more than clear a path inside for your RBs. Norwell has been great in both, however.

Shula is still a big part of our run and pass game failures, though.

I'll give Norwell his props, as he is one of the best guards in the league currently.

    • I'd give Bryce until the trade deadline to prove he's the answer and if he's not I'm dumping him for whatever pick we can get and I'm riding with Dalton the rest of the way.  2 and a half years is enough time to determine if he can be the QB going forward so for Bryce he needs to come out over the next couple of weeks and show that. The other players in the locker room don't wanna waste another year of their careers waiting to see if you'll ever figure it out.  If you took a poll of the players in the locker room I'm sure they'd rather lose with a respected veteran Dalton who at least gives them some creditability versus losing with Bryce who the entire media will say was let down by his supporting cast when in reality it's Bryce's physical limitations that are holding this team back.
    • I agree that he should’ve never been the pick at 1. In my 44 years I’ve never seen a team invest that much in a QB who is my size. I’m not meant for the NFL and neither is he.    Accepting we can’t change the past, I think it’s the correct call to keep playing him hoping that he will prove us wrong. I think we were dumb not to draft a QB this past year and let him learn and compete but that’s our reality.    I’m hoping this is the last year with the BY experiment and he deliverers us 1. To the playoffs or 2. The number one pick and we draft a real QB.
    • In his first interview after the surgery he sounded absolutely miserable.  Man that must beat you down to have that done
