DeMarco Murray?

Expected to be released. Could be a solid Stew replacement and likely wouldn't be all that costly at age 30. If we don't go young in the draft again, I think Murray would complement McCaffrey very well. He's a down hill runner and all around solid player, running the ball, catching it and pass protecting. And wouldn't count in the comp. pick formula. Thoughts?

He had 1200+ yards in 2016, but had virtually the same YPC average as Stew this season at 3.6ypc (Stew at 3.4). Derrick Henry averaged 4.2ypc in the same offense while having a good chunk of his carries come in late game situations when the opponent knew they were going to be running the ball.

Could still get him and draft a rb...

Why waste the money and reps? JUST keep stew if you want a vet RB on the roster but other than that.. We can just draft a 3rd and 5th round rb.. Cmac is going to get most of the snaps anyway.. Use FA money on WR and secondary maybe a replacement for star...

no FA RBs, please....unless it's one who is still young and hasn't produced a lot but shows a lot of potential like orleans darkwa. not sure if gettleman is going to let him get away from NYG, but i think he would be a really good compliment to CMC.

    • I mean, it's easy to say, "Morgan was Fitterer's right hand man, so he agreed with all the mistakes Fitterer made." Life and managerial structures don't necessarily work that way. GMs aren't perfect, and there are going to be hits and misses most every draft. Most would say that if you can get a couple of starters in a draft that you're doing pretty good. Even if X busts, there are still people in that draft, and an undrafted free agent, that look promising. JT looked pretty good yesterday. Calculate in the 2025 draft, which I think is fair, and I'm not going to complain. Where I think Dan has not gotten it right is overpaying a couple of free agents. and, sorry, I don't accept the "Panthers tax" argument because there is modest overpaying and gross overpaying.  I'm very much more critical of Dave Canales. He has to develop the talent that he is given. He also is responsible for his staff and personnel decision is on game days. I'm glad that he saw fit to get JT more involved yesterday. He gets zero credit for Hunter Renfrow, as should've never fired him in the first place, only to rehire him due to injury.  But Dan, I'd give another couple of years.
    • Pass rushers are spot that outside of the drafts elite typically take 2-3 to develope and bro is tripping in 2 games... this team SUCKS no need to be so dramatic
