If he leaves do we sign Star? I feel like we should get one, surely we don’t let them both walk...right?

Nope Star wants to get paid alot to (we Can't afford him either) and we actually have options in his position.. We can let him walk and get comp picks and might not take to much of a hit in production because we have cheaper backups...

They pissed Gman off.  OL is their priority, but Norwell is not clearly our best lineman, so...Of course, other teams have bluffed Hurney before and forced his hand--(without details, the colts bluffed that they were taking Armanti Edwards in the third when he was a seventh rounder or so on their board; Atlanta, with no cap room, bluffed that they were going to sign hometown Georgia alum Charles Johnson, so MH overpaid him by about $20m.)  Maybe other teams are excited that the chump is back in play.

Yeah, that concerns me. Hence, why I wish the team would hire an assistant who isn't so gullible.

Not holding my breath on that though.

That doesn't mean throw a boatload of cash on a WR like Landry either.

I love how sanjay poos on anything that is remotely negative about hurney or Rivera. His demigods

Just ignore that troll. That blithering idiot will be blabbering on and on about TEs in a minute. I'm convince he's an All-Pro member simply to keep himself from being banned like he should be.

Depends on the contracts. Sounds to me like we'd easily get a 3rd comp for Norwell and if Star gets what Damon Harrison got, we could actually get a 3rd for him as well. Harrison signed with the Giants for a little over $9M per year and the Jets got a 3rd. That article that said we'd get a 5th for Star is way off because I think he'd get a contract like Harrison (a NT). If Star got a contract inline with a 5th compensatory pick then I'd be surprised if we didn't resign him.

If they both got good contracts, I'd hope we would make sure we did get the two 3rds. I don't have confidence in Hurney to do that, but who knows.

If Star leaves we could bring in Haloti Ngata on a 1 year deal. Much cheaper but much older but can do the same job as Star.

    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
    • The fact that this is even a discussion is a testament of the level of front office badassery that's going on.
    • Not always. LT was for the Giants. So was Ray Lewis. Von Miller was moreso than Manning his final year in the season that shall not be named. It's usually the QB, but not always.
