Why we passed on Reid and Harrison

Recommended Posts

from what im hearing after trying to figure out why they fell.....  that the reason we passed on them was because while they are gifted they were no able to grasp concepts or retain information. Sometimes you look at players and we avoid them simply because they are not smart enough to run our system here.  Harrison is basically a LB playing safety. But the real issue he is immature and didnt take the interview process seriously, same goes for guice. Reid is a good player but he wasnt the best pick for us. We needed speed so we went and got speed. Point is teams nowadays teams dont care how gifted you are if you disrespect their process, they will pass over you.

Just sounds like Reid was too average in everything and the team is looking for either better strengths or better upside. The guy we got sounds like he has an attitude and his other skills seem to give him an ability to become a quality safety in time.

We can still get Eric Reid (who is the better brother anyway) if we want something more at safety.

We looked at both players closely and obviously didnt feel their value was worthy of the second round selection(or 3rd for Harrison). Thats the only thing that would make sense.

I truly believe that pretty simple our scouting team etc decided we can make Rashaan G into a beast he excels at the things we ask our safety's to do now needs to get up to speed.

Harrison is another Alabama DB that was projected to go high Bc of “Alabama”. I don’t know what Nick Saban do to his kids but they just tend to be JAG or bust in the NFL. Landon Collins turned out well. CJ Mosley is good but not great.

And Eric Reid is probably the reason why we passed on Justin.

I was fine that we passed on both during the draft. But now I feel great about it.

    • That’s not a bad idea at all. I was really liking the whole cali-style carne asada. We might do that next week instead of enchiladas for the rams. Was planning on: Saints-Gumbo Tampa-Cuban Sandwiches Seattle- Salmon Stew Tampa- Seafood Boil
    • I agree, honestly you can not trade a player that has Balls talent. Just sitting in street clothes FOR years, it doesn't matter if you are averaging 50points on 88% with 18 rebs, 15 asst, 4 stls if you never can play. These are the worst type of players, teasers. Its HIS JOB to get his body in NBA shape and he has proven that he can not. Thus you break the rule about trading top shelf talent. Hell NBA need to have NFL contracts where the full sum isn't guaranteed, you bet your ass if his money was tied to his playing on the court he'd somehow figure out how to stay healthy.   Plus Im a old head, I member when Seth Curry in his 17(Jesus..) year career had ankle problems and guess what, he solved the issues and got all the money, championships, and fame. Ball doesn't have the same drive to figure out his body, he'd rather drive his car on kids feet while rushing home to drive his go-cart on the roof of his condo after missing his 42nd game of the season.....
