La Canfora: Signs point to Tepper being named new owner early next week, $2.1-2.2 billion sale

I was just reading this. I guess it's finally happening. I guess he had to go deeper into his pockets.   Maybe not. He just has the deepest pockets to make something happen NOW. It sounds like the NFL doesn't believe in the validity of the financials of Navarro (and others).

I had the same thought. My immediate reaction wasn't a good one when I read it.

I honestly didn't mean to do that and edited the post quickly to make it clear. And I just edited it again to make it even clearer.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
