Thank you for the Panthers and thank you for all that you have done for the team!  It may be a new chapter/sequel but you wrote the book and I will be forever grateful!!  I really hope your statue stays and wish nothing but the best for you and your family going forward!!!

Not everyone hates you.  :)

Jerry Richardson was a morally bankrupt hypocrite, who shielded himself behind the idea of hiring the most trusted person to do important jobs. The whole thing was a goddamn cover to enable his offensive behavior in the workplace. Particularly in the later years.

There’s a grotesque 13-foot statue that pays homage to Mr. Richardson, I don’t feel each fan has to feel the need to do the same.

If everyone can get a stick out of their ass they have to admit that JR has done a relatively good job and none of us would be here talking Panthers football today without him.

to those that hate on Jerry over the sexual harassment.

First is if I did what he did I’d be fired. There is no excuse and he shouldn’t have done it.

secondly he paid the victim an agreed upon amount for what he did, whether you like it or not nothing he did was criminally wrong, he paid the price and when it came to light the NFL took his team away. So I'd say he has paid the price and then some for what he did.

So with that said thank you Jerry for what you did in bringing NFL football to Charlotte and the Carolinas and thanks for all the fond memories I have of the team because of you!

imo the statue should stay.

1.  Tear down that stupid statue.

2. Put Panthers logo at midfield.

I would love these two things to be done before the season starts.. Would be very symbolic and meaningful for starting a much better era for the Carolina Panthers.

    • I've shown you numerous comps for other tackles in the same age and talent range.  His contract, taking into account his age, health, etc.  is the going rate.  It's a fair deal. I've shown you examples of how long it usually takes to find even an average replacement.  Hell, look at every tackle that has ever started for the Panthers.  How many would you consider a success?  They are not easy to find. After everything we've done with this team since drafting Bryce why would we decide to let our best linemen go and add a huge question mark at tackle?   FA is a crapshoot in which any guy available will have cons/issues.  If not, they'll cost a fortune.   Outside of a first or maybe 2nd round pic next year it'll take a few years for a tackle to learn the position at the NFL level.  There are still questions about Icky. Every vet NFL player deals with maintenance.  Between the contract value and history I'm not overly worried about his knee.  I contend his knee issue isn't anything to be overly worried about.  It's not zero risk but it's an acceptable risk.  Every player we draft and every contract we sign has risk.  You're blowing up his own negative words about his knees and ignoring him saying he is healthy and the knee is a non issue.  You have a strong chicken little complex with this team.  Being he has always been a Panther they are very aware of any health issues. We paid now because now is cheaper.  If his knee was really an issue they would have waited.  That tells me it's not the issue you want it to be.
