Well, one reason anyway...

A lot of people willing joke and find this funny. To me this mentality is a detriment to the team and winning. This is the same holier than tho, appearances matter more than winning concept that keeps us from signing one strike players. It keeps us from giving the honey badger a shot or players who hit a bump in the road. These players(and coaches) could be where the bargain is, after a year or 2 goes by and nothing has happened they are then out of our price range.

Hurney needs to take the remnants of this cave man thinking with him out the door when tepper sinks his teeth in. This has to stop to build a successful team you don’t just recruit choirboys, even the model franchise the patriots took a shot on moss and ocho.

Speaking as someone who's a huge Hurney detractor, I don't really think the blame for this one you can be laid at Marty's feet.

This was Richardson. He's gone now, and I can't imagine a guy who doesn't even button up his shirt for press conferences is all that worried about appearances.

I’m not sure the blame falls on Hurney either, but he enforced it. Seems like he assessed Ryan and said your not fit to even talk to Richardson. Richardson didn’t say this about Ryan but if reports are true Hurney did. Do I want that mentality still lingering around?

Me personally I think this organization needs a fresh start and a new set of eyes to wash away the tarnished old guard.

Booyah!

Carolina's personnel guidelines from the 1950s finally pay some dividends!

Is there any doubt Rob Ryan would've been signed to a record setting deal here in Carolina if he'd owned a suit and known a decent barber?

Bottom Line:  Hurney's "Blind squirrel finds a nut" moment.
