Move Funchess to TE?

With Greg potentially missing a lot of time again this year would moving Funchess to TE be a possible solution to this issue? He played TE at Michigan. He's not small and has shown capabilities to block. We've got plenty of other guys that can step in at WR. I'm just not sure that we can make it a whole season with just Thomas and Manhertz at TE and was thinking of possible options.

No, he's strictly a WR and could never be a TE in the NFL. 

 

 

Maybe with their rookie TE showing out the Seahawks cut Dickson though and we bring him back....

Funchess plays soft as a receiver. I'm sure that would translate really well to a TE role.

If you mean for him to run GO's routes out of his flex position or off line, sure. Greg barely does inline blocking, so not a big deal.

 

However, if you mean position change..... No. You shouldn't need a reason why. This isn't Madden.

I'd like to either sign Barnidge or move Armah to TE2 and use 2 RB set with CJ and CMC

Why? Because he’s tall? What is everyone’s problem with the way he played yesterday? I thought he made some really tough catches. Would have had more if not for penalties too. What was so bad about him yesterday?

Well blocking is a big part of being a TE. But I'm all for giving Moore more touches somehow even if it meas making Funch #3
