I never liked gettleman but he was heading right direction on these two

neither one on the field for us next week at our arch rival

We tie up so much cap space in vets on the wrong side of 30. Organizations do not owe it to their former stars who have already collected income from the post-rookie contracts.

Voth's latest piece on Panthers.com includes a section where he hypes up Ian Thomas.

If you're reading the tea leaves, that probably doesn't say good things for Greg Olsen.

I'm not even sure Greg Olsen thinks he is better at this point. We have lots of guys just holding on for nothing more than a check. Next year will be rebuild or reload depending on what happens.

Agreed.

Much as I hate to say it though, the reality is that Greg Olsen probably wasn't going to be "Greg Olsen" this year either.

Bullshit. He started out quick with a couple nice catches and dominated the Aints in the playoffs to close out the year. And he's not that old for a TE and has show zero signs of slowing down at all. Fluke injury last year for one of the most consistently healthy players and seemingly another fluke injury this year but we'll see how bad it is...

How you start doesn't matter if you can't keep going.

Thank you. We are going to miss Olsen. Hope it's not season ending.

He was playing great before the injury. Just a freak thing.

He had to shake off a little rust last year when he came back, but he looked as good as ever yesterday.

Greg is a physical speciman and keeps himself in top shape. He's still got another 3 years if he can stay healthy and wants to play.

I get the discussion about TD starting to lose a step and this potentially being his last year here by his choice or not, but that is not Olsen

    • in starts, he has played better, been more efficient and outproduced Bryce by virtually every statistical metric that exists in 2025.  And has the 2 head to heads over Carolina.  I mean, your jaw should hit the floor.  But not for the reason you are implying.  That freaking stings.  Denying these realities isn't going to help the Panthers build a better team going forward.
    • He is basically having a polar opposite rookie season than Bryce. 4-3 as a starter on a very bad team.  68% for 237 passing yards and 19 rush per game. 9 TDs,  6 TOs in his starts.  and folks acknowledge the surprisingly play because no one thought poo of the random 2nd rounder and he is player better as a rookie thus far than so many prized picks did as a rookies (not just Bryce but a boatload of dudes).   It's only a sour issue to give someone props because he is a Saint and of course the Bryce thing.  It's like giving the TE in Clev props for having near identical production as the chosen one Tyler Warren.  Fannin is having a great rookie season in a very bad spot.
    • This is a very weird take. The reason Shough doesn't deserve it is because he's only started 7 games. He's doing crazy well for a rookie and out playing plenty of vets with a worse roster. He's waaay above league average in a number of categories during his starts and he passes the eye test in game by making plays. Meanwhile Bryce Young had one of the worst rookie seasons of all time. Still TMac deserves it more. It's only been 7 games for Shough so he doesn't deserve any awards. Even if he gets to 9 he doesn't.
