Curious to see what people think about our next game. I know we have a bye. I know they still have a pivotal late game contest on Sunday vs the Saints (that I will be watching hella closely).

I haven't watched a lot of the Giants this year so thats part of the reason why I'm asking. I've seen highlights of Saquons runs. Anyone else more informed about how they are doing this year?

It looks like they lost their first two contests and then beat the struggling Texans by 5 points. Wont speak at length because I haven't watched the games.

I know some Giants fans were saying that there were serious problems with one of their OTs (Flowers?) and he got pulled for the last game and the Oline did much better in keeping Eli upright.

I do recall seeing Kalein Clay muffing a kick for them earlier , lol. Poor dude, he got released too.

The guy who replaced Flowers gave up 3 sacks against Houston but wasn’t as consistently terrible as Flowers or something. At least that’s the impression I got from reading what some of their fans said. Some unbiased reports suggest he was worse so it may be a case of Giants fans just wanting any alternative and being happy with it even if it was just as bad.

They are bad. Eli is washed. The defense is not good. They just lost their TE for a few weeks and their OL is as advertised. Barkley and Beckham can and will probably do some damage but we’ve got major problems if we drop this game.

I've watched a few Giants games. The Cowboys, and most of the recent game vs the Texans. My takeaways from both games are Eli is shitting his pants this season when pressure is on him. The Offensive Line for the Giants is not very good, but, to say they're complete trash is a fallacy. It's all on Eli at this point. Their Defense is vastly average, so, hopefully we can get our run game going, and passing game. They allow 111 yards per game right now in the rushing game. So Rivera and his love for running the ball should have his testicles tight going into this game. If we put the necessary pressure on Eli (big if), we should be fine. They're also force feeding Barkley like we did with McCaffrey last year. Basically to justify their pick of him.

Their offense is dangerous if the offensive line holds up.

Eli is a totally different QB once he's been hit and/or under pressure

Defense was better last with Vernon back, but it will be disappointing if we don't put up a lot of points.

Overall the weakest defense of any team we have played so far. Should be at least a 7 point victory if we play to our capabilities

I think we’ll beat their ass. And if we don’t, then we’re probably not that good of a team.

And won't make the playoffs. In this division there's no room for a loss to a not good Giants team. But since every team has scored on us on every red zone possession, even the worst teams have a shot to beat us.

that doesn't even sound right lol. How the fug did they win? Did Elliot have like 300 rush??

I honestly couldnt believe it after looking at the box score, 1st quarter he completed a pass to Austin for a 60+ yarder td and ever since that moment just managed the game. Zeke had 79 yards or so and dak had 45 rushing. Hence my point, they played the safest game possible and beat the giants easily, granted there d line murdered Eli all night. All we have to do is show up, dbl Odell, and contain saquan

The giant's record probably isn't a true reflection of their potential. They've honestly been through a meat grinder of solid defensive fronts the first 3 weeks of the year, and their team's biggest weakness happens to be their O-Line so they've looked worse than they're capable of performing. Their first 3 opponents have been Sacksonville, Dallas' underrated D-line, and JJ Watt/ Jadeveon Clowney. They have the skill players to have a high powered offense, they just don't have the offensive line to keep Eli upright long enough.

Saquan is the truth. Dude has managed to shine with little to no push from his O-Line so far this season. Beckham is Beckham and one of the best receivers in the game. Shepard is a great #2.

Give their O-Line a little bit more time to Gel and play against some none Elite players and they'll look better. I think it's a trap game for us and hopefully since Ron is well aware of Shula and his tendencies, we should be able to handle their offense pretty well.

If Ron gets outwitted by Shula, then I'll have serious cause for concern.

    • Yeah, honestly being a long-term backup is at least as much about being a good lockerroom presence and accepting your role as a supporting piece and not being a greasy wheel as much as it does about ability. Backup QB requires a completely different mindset than the starter and some guys just can't make that switch. It doesn't make them bad guys or locker room cancers or anything like that, it just makes them not what you're looking for in a long-term backup. You bring in that type of guy to compete. You don't bring in that type of guy if you're not looking for competition.
    • Im saying its Tar Heel fans who would do that. I root for all Panthers to succeed regardless but college affiliation means zero to me
    • We have some good pieces.  Enough to be competitive week to week.  Coaching seems to be improving but they’ve made it much harder on themselves than needed.  There are very good reasons to be optimistic about the future. However, I don’t trust them yet.  Wins are odd looking and mostly ugly.  Our opponents have to have a bad day for us to hang with them.  A lot of that is because we still haven’t figured out the most important position and will continue until it’s solved. I think Morgan has done a nice job in both the draft and FA so far.  He’s getting better each day he’s in that position. As far as the players listed, I’m pretty much in agreement.  XL and Bryce are not performing the way they should at this point.  I will say XL could see more success in a vertical passing attack to better utilize his speed. And as always, Fug Tepper.
