Seattle - #1 ranked rushing offense

Seattle runs the ball. I mean they run the ball a lot.

They currently rank 1st overall rushing, but only 8th in yard per attempt. Not as good as Carolina's 3rd ranked rushing per attempt rank.

So, this game will come down to the defensive line, yes? Stifle the Seattle run game and the victory is ours.

Will this finally be the game KK Short and Dontari Poe decide to show out?

Eric Washington's got this, right?

Oye.

I just don't have much faith in this front seven anymore and I think the biggest issue is the guy running the D. Not ready to blame the players for the mess. Good performers can only do so much under bad/weak management.

Btw, if I was Rivera right now, I'd be taking over that defense and making it right.

You want to ensure you've got a job tomorrow when poo is falling apart? Step up and fix it. There's a tone for delegating and there's a time to take matters into your own hands and Ron hit that point 2 weeks ago.

I actually saw him with a play card the lions game so he definitely is helping.

No. I honestly think that they both have essentially mailed it in. Poe saw this as a last contract to get paid and nothing more. KK came into the season woefully unprepared and hasn’t been close to what he’s been in the past. Washington gets a lot of heat...and rightfully so. But there has been no difference between our max contract DTs and the guys playing behind him. That’s a pretty big problem. I don’t see it getting solved this year.

Yep.

Most QBs have had their average time per pass significantly decrease against the Panthers. They know the front seven is good, but because Washington is so keen on calling off coverage and ancient defensive coverage pass offs that don’t work in the modern era, it’s easy to ignore their threat.

I feel like its gonna be Wilson scrambling around to buy time and chunking up prayers that are always completed and their passing game looks like the Steelers...

the blueprint on how to beat Riveras panthers has been the same since at least the super bowl, they cant stop deep passes and just smother the offense

    • This is huge may not be a trap game but this plays a major part in what they want to do. If we can get some pressure on Sam we know what he does with pressure coming hit and heavy. Also we may be able to take the top off their defense a backup safety trying to stop TMac or Cooker over the top or forcing him to play the backend should allow us to run the ball somewhat effectively. Either they allow some runs or we take some shots and if Bryce and whoever can connect deep we’ll be in business for another big time win against a top notch opponent. Might not be a trap game but health travel game plans all play a major role in each weeks game plan and this week might be leaving our way. We’re missing some replaceable pieces they’re missing key anchors to the offense and defense major difference time to solidly ourselves at one of the top teams in the nfc tomorrow fellas buckle up.
    • Yes.  If I am not mistaken, we need to sign Coker to the ERFA tender and insist that XL spends his spring and summer at a WR camp and not Coon huntin on his four wheeler.  XL was raw when we picked him--which is why I wanted to go another direction--and we are seeing how raw.  He is basically learning a position.     The Panthers will make their move in 2026 to be an NFL powerhouse behind Bryce.  Bryce needs intelligent WRs who catch the ball.  That said, we need a solid #2 to challenge XL and make cutting him easy, if necessary.  A #2 WR (intented to be a #1 by now) with under 400 yards is embarrassing.   On offense, you have to ask, "Where can we get better?"  In my view, #2 WR, TE (although they are improving) and maybe C (again, if we re-sign Mays, he is trending up and at 26, entering his prime--I say stay with him and find competition later in the draft (not good for C).  OL depth maybe?  In other words, XL is a glaring weak spot.
