At Least Funchess is Gone

It was a poo throw by Cam, but Funch let a corner who is 3 inches shorter and 40 pounds lighter push him outside is embarrassing

Funchess could have grabbed the DB to prevent the INT. When you the WR see a bad pass headed your way you become a DB and knock it down, or tackle the defender. Instead FunFun showed he has poop for brains and the heart of a sloth and failed to do much of anything. He vanishes so easily that he gives David Baine a boner. Funfun just has a knack for shrinking and shriveling into a little ball of useless poop.

You’re taught as a WR to make it easy for your qb, especially on a underthrow to prevent a int, the guy is a jag and I don’t want him back if he’s willing to sign for 2 bucks

Do you not remember 2012 and our defense against the run that year? Star and KK were outstanding draft picks that solidified our interior DL for 5 years. Butler was a wasted pick but you cannot in any possible way logically argue that Star and KK weren't great picks.

HOF Drew Brees made a bad throw on the 2 point conversion.

Funchess still can't run routes, 4 years into his career. He has to go.

It was a bad throw, and more evidence that Cam’s shoulder is effed, but Funchess let himself get boxed out by one of the least physical CBS in the league. And then didn’t even put much effort to even preventing the INT, much less making the catch. He’s dookie, only stay for a low low contract as a #3 or 4.

TD that he didn't get was an awful throw. Anybody saying otherwise is either trolling, blind, or fanatically devoted to Cam. There is no possible way you can think that throwing the ball into the chest of the DB on a fade route is a good throw when you've got a 6'4" target behind him to high point with. I'm not going to even entertain that discussion further than this.

With that said, Funchess just never developed. He was meant to be insurance for KB, who looked great his rookie season and poised for great things in year two. ACL injury and a bumbling comeback season and now he is what he is. Funchess was supposed to be a younger, more athletic prospect in case we lost KB to injury. I'm more okay with trotting DJ Moore and Curtis Samuel out and putting them in space. If Funchess were to be a redzone/slot guy, I could rock with that for sure. He's going to want to compete for #1 status though and with Rivera's tendency to prefer veterans regardless of skill level, I would feel safer with him testing free agency while we cut Smith to save $5M and walk into next season with Moore, Samuel, and Wright as our 3 locks.
