I think Brad berry is a very good football player.  Quiet player that doesn’t necessarily have a wow factor but he shows up and does his job.  I am good with that.

Funny you mention pay attention because that seens to be one of the big things holding Bradberry back. If he would learn how to track the ball better and turn his head around he could take major steps.

I wonder if we had played the Giants later in the season, if Jackson would have been assigned OBJ. OBJ caught most of the passes in the clip (of course Bradberry was lined up 12 yards off 90% of the season). Not a knock against Bradberry, I just think Jackson's speed might be a better match for a shifty player like OBJ. But that's a lot to ask a rookie in his 4th game.

PS: I forget just how good OBJ is because he's such a little bitch, but that guy can ball.

i hate to see cornerbacks not play the ball, but bradberry constantly faces players that are quicker/faster than him. he has to track them first and foremost and utilize fundamentals over physical talent.

now if he had jackson's speed...oh boy.

Bradberry is a very solid cover guy and would be a starter on just about any team in the league. He's good, he's darn good. He's also a fair tackler, and that puts him ahead of some premier coverage guys.

We're lucky to have the guy and he's a solid defensive player. When looking at any tape, you have to remember a trio of things: 1) all corners get beat eventually, the idea of a shutdown corner has been pretty much legislated out of the game; 2) the corner's job isn't to intercept, it is to cover in such a way that it forces the opposing QB to move through their progressions, eating up time while mounting pressure pushes the chances of a mistake; 3) a pass interference penalty is sometimes a win.

I certainly wouldn't be willing to give him a large deal after how he performed last season.

 

He's a #2 CB in a league where you need a 1A and 1B.

The rose colored glasses come on for guys who fans were screaming at just a few weeks ago during the offseason.

Much is made of the opponents he faced last season. Well lol, A) Welcome to the NFL and B) you'd like to see him win some of those matchups. Green was dominating him until the injury. Atlanta simply wasn't targeting him with Sanu and Ridley running so free. Beyond those, it was pretty plainly ugly almost across the board.

 

This team can't burn another season because they've got the "he's a fine young man who did some nice things" goggles on.

 

Maybe its just me but im pretty sick of the panthers not playing in the super bowl to be giving hometown benefit of the doubt to middling players.

      I don't necessarily think he will be moved, I would currently be leaning against that notion. I think a lot will depend on the coaching situation. Carroll certainly can't be thinking about wanting to go through a serious strip down and overhaul, so the longer he plans to remain, the less likely I think Crosby gets moved.

      I think everyone says Mike Evans because of size, but really they have different strengths and play styles.  Tmac is better on intermediate routes and not nearly as good at contested catches.

      At this point, it is criminal to go into the 2026 training camp/OTA's with XL penciled in as a #2 WR. The team must upgrade, either through free agency or the draft. If he cannot give 100% effort on significantly less snaps as a #4-6 WR(players like Tremayne have done that consistently) then I don't think you have a player worth rostering beyond the trade deadline. Offensively, we eventually have to upgrade to an NFL starting caliber C. It's been almost the length of time from Gross to Ikey since Kalil retired and we have below average to terrible C play. Love Mays as a BC-esque utility backup but he will never be an above average long term starting C.  The TE room is one of the worst in the NFL but it's a low usage position in this offense, so the investments are likely to be small, if any. I would never expect to see an elite TE in a Dave Canales offense. 100% agree on OL depth. We actually aren't bad there but BC will be gone, Mays is a UFA, Corbett is a UFA and Zavala has been both injured and bad. We have to bolster that depth again or resign guys like Mays and Corbett to keep that depth somewhat stable.
