I have no problem with this and I'm the biggest Byrd fan. We have several receivers with a similar skill set and the guy just can't stay on the field.

I like Byrd but this doesn't bother me all that much. We have some young talent at WR now. Moore and Samuel starting outside, Wright in the slot and then maybe keep Smith and go draft/FA for big red zone guy and the position looks pretty damn good to me. No need to keep more than 5.

Is Byrd even better than someone like Frazier who will easily stick to practice squad and can be brought up if necessary?

There is no doubt that we will not tender Damiere Byrd, the tender amount would simply be too expensive. This is the reason we decided to extend Chris Menhertz instead of tendering him. He might still be back on a lesser deal but he's not very good and hasn't been able to stay healthy. We've probably seen the last of Byrd as a Panther.

It's time for us to move on. For awhile he was pretty much the only WR we had with any speed. That's no longer the case.

Byrd is just not healthy enough for the NFL. If the kid could stay on the field he would be a weapon but he can't.

the dude was special for the 3-4 plays he could do in between injuries.

B) if he does walk it won’t be the end of the world. I like him and last year showed a little progression but as someone else said, he’s no longer the only speed we have and that was what we were so desperate for
