In his prime I would have no problem playing him as a FS, but too much uncertainty now. Those achilles injuries are hard to recover from.

Yeah, pre-Achilles Berry damn sure wouldn't be on the open market like this for long, either. It is a damn shame that injury happened. He was an unbelievable player.

yea man that game on opening night vs the Patriots in 2017 was an amazing game, he was all over Gronk. Then the achilles happened.

Berry was set to get $12.4 mil but was cut instead because he cannot perform with the nagging injuries that plague him now especially with his heel problems.

He’s got what’s called a Haglund’s deformity in that Achilles. That’s a bone spur that basically digs into the Achilles.

If he has plans surgery to correct this then maybe we can bring him in and go from there.

He's only 29, on a 1-2 year deal paired with Reid you can't ask for too much of a better back end duo. Given injury concerns and the market should come at a modest cost if we were to inquire I'd imagine. I would still like to see us draft another FS, as I'm not sold on Gaulden, but Reid, Berry, Gualden, Rookie / Jones I would not be mad about it.

i also wouldn't be mad to see Boston return and FINALLY be the FS, a lot of his stint here was at the SS, and IMO a little out of his skill set. Can't deny he created INT's while he was here. Just wan't great at run support.

boston is horrible in space and needs to not be a free safety anywhere in the league

Well he did have cancer, so that is a large chunk of that.  I think the other is from him tearing his Achilles.

That was in 2014. The Achilles tear was in the first game of 2017, and he sat out most of 2018 with a heel injury which was related to a bone spur on the Achilles.

He was getting up to speed last season towards the end for the chiefs, that injury is a big concern seeing as the top two other fa we signed are also coming off injury. Still would like the move if it’s cheap, but there’s still haha, Phillips, and Boston our there.

and people boo booing on Boston must have not watch his last two seasons, he’s progressed mightily since his departure from here

Doesn't make any sense. Eric Reid is the most box SS in the league and needs a free flowing FS for this to work.

On their draft profiles, Reid was listed as a FS and Berry a SS.

Berry also ran a 4.47 to Reid's 4.53.

Rivera has talked about the importance of the safeties in our defense being interchangeable. LEMME DREAM!

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
