I agree with this.. Grab a starting left guard in the 2nd or 3rd .. And you have a young left side of your line and most of your line signed a secure for years.  Get a development OT in later rounds..

Yep and we always have Larsen and Van Roten who have proven they can play at least adequately. Both can play guard and center.

Just curious, assuming we had the cap room, which players would you have preferred we signed this offseason and been okay with the terms of their contracts?

We used to do that too, but you can only keep it up for so long. That's basically how we wound up 14 million over the cap back in 2013.

This.  Saints are going all in until Brees retires and then they'll be stuck with bad contracts like we were in 2010 and will start rebuilding.

That's enough to sign a veteran defensive end. The 7.5 mill will cover the draft picks. Probably will only be able to sign one veteran that is released or if we trade a pick for an impending camp cut.

Now have between 1.73 and 2.73m depending on what incentives in Irvin's contract are considered ltbe.

I don't know what vet DE all pro we signed but it sure wasn't Irvin.  He is still an ok player but he was never an all pro anything.

Depends on his incentives, same with williams. If they are considered ltbe then they will count automatically towards cap.

Even with around 2 million in cap space, getting back 7 mil in June for cutting Kalil will go a long way towards signing our draft picks
