How about a G in round 2 or a FS? Unless Risner (who can be a great G as well) is there at 46, I don't want to see a Little or a Howard at 46 over say a McCoy, Jenkins or Lindstrom who would start immediately at LG.

I agree with this.. Grab a starting left guard in the 2nd or 3rd .. And you have a young left side of your line and most of your line signed a secure for years.  Get a development OT in later rounds..

The Saints do a fair amount of kicking the can down the road.

We used to do that too, but you can only keep it up for so long. That's basically how we wound up 14 million over the cap back in 2013.

This.  Saints are going all in until Brees retires and then they'll be stuck with bad contracts like we were in 2010 and will start rebuilding.

@Shocker What in this post offended you? The fact that I’d rather cover a starting position with pick 46? Ugh.

Just saying...you keep throwing out hypotheticals like they are fact when you have no idea (no one does) exactly what we will do here.  There are plenty of unknown variables at play here and anything can happen.

how tf do the saints have more cap space than us?

That's enough to sign a veteran defensive end. The 7.5 mill will cover the draft picks. Probably will only be able to sign one veteran that is released or if we trade a pick for an impending camp cut.

Just happened lol

We got us a young center all pro and a vet DE all pro and resigned a strong safety and an an OL

prett good use of our  cash

still need a FS and a nickel

gonna draft even more linemen

I don't know what vet DE all pro we signed but it sure wasn't Irvin.  He is still an ok player but he was never an all pro anything.
