If the article had been like

"The Panthers are anchored by what they will hope is the emergence and continued growth of DJ Moore and Curtis Samuel.  While they have shown sparks of excitement last year, they need to build on this and show the world the players they can be.  Until then, they are an unknown with high upside that still need to prove themselves"
 

Or something along those lines.  I'd be like "ok, I don't quite agree with the ranking number, but I see where he is coming from"  But when its "They lost a player they benched last year, and their only outside threat is another player they benched".  I am just..really man?

I get it.  We aren't a big market and they are on a deadline.  Sucks for us but they only focus on the big markets.  Been that way forever.

I can only hope that they did these rankings without including McCaffrey.  Otherwise,  this will be just more fuel to the fire.

I certainly don't agree with B/R on this one, and I also think some of the responses in this thread are presumptuous and overly negative regarding the corps as a whole if not specific players. I think that Lucas Ewing and the guys at USA Today will be on the right side of history regarding our corps after everything is said and done.

I generally don't quote most of an article, but sometimes theirs are so short and direct to the point anyway---like glorified blurbs---that I can't help myself.

I'm actually excited about our WR corps for the first time since Smitty left.  I can honestly say that.  The reason being I was never a fan of KB (tall can't be your best trait as a WR) and thought Funchess was a project being moved from TE in college (kinda nailed that one).  Curtis Samuel started the rebuilding of the group, but went to IR in year one as we all know and was essentially a 'rookie' last year.  Moore is in year two now and I think will take a huge step in his growth.  Wright is in the Cotchery mold; he's not going to put up huge numbers, but he's got an uncanny ability to get open and move the chains on 3rd down.  Hogan I envision doing the same thing and can fill in at any spot more than capably.  If Smith is here, that only provides even more depth.  Then we have a slew of guys that in year's past would have been vying for the #4 spot (think Bersin) but are now relegated to the #6 and that's even if we carry that many this year.

So yeah, this trash article that says only four teams have worse WR corps in the entire League obviously don't see the difference (major difference) that I do from year's past.

This just shows how slept on our wr corps is, i genuinely would not be suprised if we finished as a top 5 wr corps. But, that’s more contingent on cam newton and especially if he has the ability to throw the deep ball. Also, this offense is special our o-line could finally be one of our strengths. If all the pieces come together( Greg Little develops into atleast a starting caliber LT before playoffs/Daryl Williams stays healthy) then I think we easily have a top 10 if not higher o-line. Combined with Christian being just amazing and helping the offense on a ridiculous level through big yardage run plays, or being an amazing receiver he makes this offense elite by himself. Also, with Greg Olsen possibly playing at his elite level with Ian Thomas poised to breakout as well. And DJ Moore, and Curtis Samuel poised to breakout as well. Moreover, I think Jordan Scarelett is gonna be a good backup rb he has all the makings of a solid rb except minus the receiving ability. But, im so excited for the team this year I’m expecting this team to do something amazing and I think we have the roster to back up that claim. Keep Pounding!!!!

Agree with all, and would just like to add that a new OC typically takes a year to get to know his pieces. The 2nd full season is usually when things open up.

Norv Turners learning curve of offensive personnel & the typical OCs are not the same by a considerable margain...just saying
