2019 Panthers Draft Target out for the Season

Billy Price, 2018: Six games missed (foot).
John Ross, 2017: 17 total snaps played, zero catches.
William Jackson, 2016: Zero games played (pec).
Cedric Ogbuehi, 2015: 11 games missed (knee).

And that is what contributes to the Bengals record.  

I know we all bitch during the draft about why we didn’t select certain players over others.  But many times it comes out that the NFL front offices had much more info than the average fans do.

Damn. That is ROUGH. Not surprised at all Ross busted. I cringed that so many here wanted him. To be fair, they drafted Ogbuehi knowing he had a torn ACL.

We need someone at LT. coaches refuse to put moton there and Williams isn’t an LT so seems to me they kind of do need little to be LT. of course there’s always the option of dragging someone of the couch and sticking him there like last year which I’d consider to have as much value as a rookie

 

and before you say say moton was doing well at Rt why move him, think it’s an accepted fact lt is more important and we should all agree not having Motown at lt day one and plug the right side instead of lt should’ve been done; everyone knew they (and Williams) rushed Williams back and everyone knew he wasn’t going to last

 

this staff obviously has issues with evaluating the line; amini (started; started over norwell), chandler, bell etc.

Well that’s kind of their job and they get paid well to do it so yea one would hope

but then moves make you wonder...maybe they overthink TOO much

jarrett, clausen, brown, Fua, McClain, a edwards, the triple cb dip couple years back etc etc

moves that all cost very high picks that 90% of the forum went ape poo about, yet the ‘professionals’ felt they were worth the investment, yet the average fan (and a large consensus at that) seemed to know better. Usually we have a love the pick/ hate the pick but those players were not that.  They were a consensus, not a lucky guess. 

Makes you wonder

      Like many of the old heads, I’ve been here for a long time.  I got a lot of respect for everyone on this board for your dedication to this team.  We’ve all been through it during the tougher years. At this point in life, I’m not one to judge anyone’s level of dedication, or their reasons why anymore.  Time, and a lot of bad football, will do that.  For me, it’s simple.  We share a common bond.  For that, I love and appreciate all of you crazy SOB’s. For me, last season was at a minimum, entertaining.  BY lead a young team to multiple come from behind 4th qtr wins.  That showed me heart, and that he has the clutch gene.  That’s the wildcard intangible.  For me, that was fun to watch even  if it was mindbogglingly frustrating at times.  Over the past two seasons, we have progressively built a better team around him.  On paper, the defense should be better this season.  That’ll help.  Let’s see what he can do as the other guys continue to develop too.  Besides, his contract is cheap for a few more years, and we just made some smart cap decisions during the draft. Let’s see how it shakes out.

      I would very much liked to have seen Jake Delhomme's career if Tommy Jone no hurt Jake.  I just know that roster and the leadership were destined to hit paydirt but Jake was never the same after the elbow injury, and unfortunately he was the sole reason they didn't make it back to the big one.  I think that 08 team was the best in the league, and Jake masked his inability well all season til the Arizona game put it all on display.  I'll go back to the season prior even and say the 07 team was primed to be a competitor.  Jake was off to a fantastic start that year (for a Panthers QB).  They may have been a championship caliber club for a few seasons after 08 too.
