Hall of Fame push for several Panthers (not necessarily who you're expecting)

Honestly I feel like Sam Mills deserves to go into the HoF more than any other guys from our team's history right now. No offense to Jake, Smitty, and everybody else of course but Sam is THE perfect story you want immortalized in the Hall. He was always told he was undersized and that he would never make it, he proved them wrong and made it and dominated at it in the process, he was a hell of a coach even when facing down cancer, and in the process pretty much shaped the Panther's franchise with his words. I mean, his words were so powerful that the team still uses them to this day. To add to this, he is one of the very  very few things that both Panther fans and Saint fans can agree on (for the most part. still have arguments about who he impacted more.). If that isn't what you want representing the best of your sport then I don't know what to tell a person lol.

Sam Mills will go into HoF as a Panther but there will be some disagreements with this on Saints fans side saying he should go in as a Saint. But you are correct on him being immortalized in the hall for all his accomplishments.

I love Gross but just can’t see it. Only 1 all pro and 3 pro bowls and didn’t spend his whole (relatively short for a HoFer) career at LT. Plus no SBs and only played for Carolina and I find it very unlikely he ever gets in. I’d love it if he does but don’t see the voters making it happen.

If Gross doesn't get in nobody on that list is worthy.. because he is the closest one.

Kuechly and Peppers are locks. Cam needs a ring or else he aint getting in. Steve Smith should get in but its a logjam at WR in the hall.

This is not true. Cams numbers were record breaking. His career projection was right along with manning and Favre. Add in his rookie of the year mvp, numerous pro bowls and being the all time greatest duel threat then I dont see how he doesn't. All time numbers at touchdowns on the ground for a qb and qb rushing yardage when it is said and done. Just because u dont like how he wins doesnt mean he doesnt get it done.

As long as he plays 6-7 more seasons hes a lock.

he has 3-4 years left and thats a bunch of poo no one cares about. randall cunningham held the record for rushing for a qb for over a decade, had the pro bowls and all pros and he still is nowhere in the hall.

bottom line his cam needs a ring or else hes hall of very good like cunningham, philip rivers etc

Wrong, unlike the Pro Baseball Hall of Fame where their induction plaque includes one team’s insignia on their hat, the Pro Football Hall of Fame doesn’t induct its members “going in as a member one team or another”.

Rather on the plaque under the bust in the Hall only states their name, position, and years played as a player. It doesn’t even mention years as a coach as evidenced by Mike Ditka’s plaque below his bust.

So when Mills is rightfully indicted into the PFHOF, his plaque under his bust will read:

Sam Mills

Linebacker

1986-94 New Orleans Saints, 1995-97 Carolina Panthers

With all those names one could assume that the HOF is expanding so they can include a lot of just above average players.

can make an argument for Gross, dude anchored our line and was as good as anyone who played during his tenure.

Mills was good, don’t know about HOF good. He should get in on his personal character and what he meant to the Panthers on and off the field.

a big fat NO to Jake and Moose. They did great things here but they weren’t HOF great.

Of course we all know that when Smitty and Pep are eligible they will be inducted.

I think the vast majority of that list is not going to get any kind of serious consideration. They probably just aggregate all eligible players with multiple pro bowl appearances. Unfortunately I don't see any of those Panthers making it. Gross was great for us but it seems like the standard for an offensive lineman is multiple first team all pro selections. But save for Muhsin Muhammad, they're all in the Panthers hall of honor which is still a great distinction and well deserved. You could argue Moose would be a worthy addition too.

Jake may be HOF worthy because of his "story" more than his stat line. The whole backup-to-Super-Bowl angle, years muddling around the NFL Europe. I think he's the kind of feel-good story the league is trying to play up to detract from the off-the-field headlines that the NFL is racking up lately.

Well, I'm sure there will be some other interesting stories that come out if Delhomme gets into the Hall of Fame over some other guys that are qualified. I love Delhomme, but you don't put stories into the Hall of Fame, unfortunately.
