My concern going forward is just this.  Todd Bowles laid the gameplan on how to beat us.  The left side of our line isn’t going to get any better.  The game plans will be pressure and man coverage. And take away CMC   Make Cam beat you with his arm.

If Cam wants his next contract it’s there for the taking   But can he actually get it done

Going to have to commit a TE/FB to chip/block on every passing play....otherwise rinse and repeat every week. This Oline just doesn't have the ability to handle it without help.

That suggests that the people in the know in the NFL do not see this as mere rust.  A game plan--and this has all the signs of a game plan and not an adjustment---that disrespects an NFL QB's arm is telling.  What do they know?

Back when Cam was running, lowering his shoulder, getting hit repeatedly---did you not think there would come a day when he was just unable to play any more?

But this is the thing before, and I stand by the idea that I think his foot is worse off than we're being told, if teams ran man vs us he could get loose for big gains because the DBs have to turn and run.

I think TB saw the lack of mobility vs LAR, and full well took advantage of that, because all off-season it was about the shoulder, no word about lower extremity issues until the sprained foot in the PS.

So without his ability to escape and our inability to hold up vs speed rushers in particular this could be annoying, ARI may be 0-2 but they also run a 3-4 like LAR / TB, and have an All-Pro in Chandler Jones, and a guy like Suggs that can still make plays and plenty of speed at the second level.

Our coaches need to start earning that money and implementing better game plans, also off topic, have we even run any under center PA passes?

    • I just don't think some guys have it. Darnold has the panic gene. I don't think there's any fixing it. He looks really good as long as the play develops as drawn up or if he gets pressured immediately and has to go to his check down right away. It's when he has decent protection and his first read isn't open and he's standing back there in the pocket with that panic slowly building. That's when he does disastrous poo.
    • based on the QBs drafted #1 comparison thread, he’s right where he should be. if your expectations were to have a rookie lead us to the playoffs without an OL and WR corps, maybe your expectations were a bit off.
    • at some point, though, you just have to suck it up and accept it and deal with the bad deal you got.  you go through funks where you keep making mistakes and hope that you get it figured out sometime soon, but in the learning process you realize you could have done some things better but you're stuck with decisions you make. you have two choices...whine about it or just brush it off and hope can make the situation you put yourself work. i know a lot of people in here have probably never experienced or dealt with failure much in their lives, but i have and i learned to just suck it up and try to make the best of the situation you've got yourself in because you realize that you're stuck with it for a while. doesn't do any good to keep harping over what you wish you had done better. you already know that. now it's just about moving forward from here and making the best of it and hoping you can make something of it. it's the easiest thing in the world to look at where Bryce falls short...and yes, that was intentional. everyone knows that and all that is done is beating that horse laying on the ground. what takes some work is trying to see how it can work and if they have done and are doing things to help the situation get better.
