Kap was benched 3 yrs ago and sucked then, why would he be any better know?

Yeah he only had a 16-4 td to int ratio and 60% completion.     He's not a world beater but people's biased for other reasons around here have made it look like he's Jimmy Clausen.

I do think if any of the stuff with Kevin Colbert pans out, then he'll probably be hands off because he'd have somebody he can completely trust running the show.

That’s where I’d like to see this all end up, FWIW.

Tepper was still primarily running his hedge fund last year. It wasn't that long ago that it was reported he was going to shift to primarily concentrating on the Panthers, and as far as I know the sale of his hedge fund business is still in process.

I don't think he's fully involved...yet, but but then none of us has access to that kind of information.

He isnt selling it just moving it over as his family hedge fund.  So less people and he wont be as active. From what I heard.

So why was he benched? And what other reasons? I dont care about the kneeling thing i dont even watch the games till they start and couldnt care less what players do before or after a game.

Because after the '13 Super Bowl run, they went 11-24 with him starting, including a combined 3-16 in his last two seasons. He only averaged over 200 passing yards per game in one season and for his career he averaged under 180 passing yards per game and it wasn't like he was making up for it with huge numbers on the ground. He barely averaged over 30 rushing yards per game for his career. He generally took care of the ball in terms of avoiding INTs, but it was largely by design. He was a game manager QB and the play calling reflected that.

    • Very True--and I am a former HS English teacher.
    • Not a Moore fan-but he had a few good games last year-but I want players that scare you--Renfrow's route running and intelligence, Legette's size, speed, and strength, AT's intelligence and route running, Coker's body control, strong hands, and abilty to win contested catches, and TMac's size, body control, and ability to find soft spots in zone coverages.  Horn gives them the ability to stretch the field and he plays special teams.   Moore has a nice smile and can dance.  He filled in well last season, but to get better as a team, you have to upgrade your players.  I think Moore is a bottom of the roster guy who got bumped when we drafted 2 WRs and signed a legit free agent.  Here is the thing--TMac makes us better because he is great against the zone--man?  Good luck with that.  AT's role can be reduced, and that is probably a good thing.  He can specialize in situational football. Coker?  Just getting started. XL?  Just getting started.  Drafting TMac was probably a bit of a wake up call, but XL will be better as the 2. Renfrow?  I see him splitting reps with AT--keeping both fresh and giving different looks. Horn?  Watch the safety cheat his side when he is in the game--I see a young Steve Smith type in him, but he has yet to play a game.  I hear that Morgan loves him.
