OnePantherPlace Film Room / Kyle Allen

Healthy cam is better however he is not. He made some nice throws... maybe no one wants to get hurt on the D in a meaningless game but they don’t want to look stupid. Anyone who was a backup played there hearts out... unless you are a star that is your career... game plan who knows but besides a couple of guys out there they were playing to get a check another year.

Damn. I don’t remember that many bootlegs. Assume we will see a bunch of those tomorrow to help our porous OL.

Well done Ellis!!!

Allen is actually very mobile (so is Grier). He's also capable of being a half-decent occasional run threat, but I think a lot of people don't quite perceive him that way.

Side Note,: People often use the terms "mobile" and "run threat" with regard to quarterbacks as if they were synonymous. They really aren't.

A mobile quarterback is one who can move around in the pocket and take off running if necessary. They might make a play with their legs every once in a while but you don't want to count on that.

A run threat quarterback on the other hand is an actual weapon in the run game (and one that opposing DCs fear). You want to send them on designed runs three or four times a game because they're capable of doing just as much damage as a running back when used properly.

Most pro quarterbacks not named Dan Marino are at least some level of "mobile" (heck, even Jake Delhomme showed DeAngelo Hall  some moves once). Not as many are run threats.
