Carolina has Worst Pass Blocking Offensive Line

Matt Paradis' success in Denver has not translated to success in Carolina, as he has put up a PBWR of just 80%, well below the average for centers of 91%. But the biggest disappointment on this Carolina line has been Daryl Williams, who is back after missing most of last season with a knee injury. He was rocked by Barrett when the Panthers faced the Buccaneers, but really, he has been bad overall, with a PBWR of 76%.

Even Trai Turner and Taylor Moton -- both PBWR stars in 2018 -- haven't been excellent. Overall, no team has been worse in PBWR than Carolina (32.5%)

This is not at all surprising. It makes Allen's performance against Arizona even more impressive but at the same time, it gives me even more concern that we won't be able to replicate that against a much better defense in the Texans. We might watch two QBs get absolutely beat to poo on Sunday because the Texans' OL isn't much better.

A line in which none of the five have played next to each other in a previous season is taking time to gel?! You don’t say!

Moton, Turner and Van Roten are all manning the same spots they did before. Only Williams and Paradis are new from last year, replacing Chris Clark and Ryan Kalil.

    • I don't really care as much about athleticism and arm strength.  While Murray might be better in that regard, I think Bryce has enough of both to do well in the NFL. The main reason this trade reference is silly is the money and the fact that Murray has been around a long while and hasn't proven that he can perform consistently when the game is on the line.  Bryce has shown that he can play well in the clutch (in the few opportunities he has had).
    • If Bryce can continue the level of play he showed after the benching, then there's a good shot we at least compete to win the division. Tampa is a solid team but even last year in our week division they went 10-7 and will be on their 4th OC in as many years. The Saints are a mess and are in a mist of a half rebuild half still trying to compete mode and will probably be starting a rookie QB. The Falcons are a wild card as they have a really good offense but are we really crowning Michael Penix as a franchise QB after just 3 games?  The only thing I want out of this season is for Bryce to come out and without a shadow of a doubt prove he's our franchise QB. If that happens then most of the fanbase would be happy and I believe we'd be in a good place record wise at the end of the season. Maybe falling just short of winning the division with a chance to sneak in as a wild card team.
