Uphill climb to make the playoffs

Looking at the remainder of the schedule, I think it’s going to be really tough. Assuming we can sweep the Falcons and win most of our remaining home games, our most optimistic  expectations are to finish 10 - 6, but I am afraid 9 -7 is more likely which won’t be good enough in  the NFC.  We will need to upset some strong teams to solidify our position.

Vs. Titans - W

@ Packers - L

Vs. Falcons - W

@Saints - L

Vs. Redskins - W

@Falcons - W

Vs. Seahawks - L

@Colts - W

I came to a similar conclusion when I looked at this last night. We have to win all the games we should win then steal 1 or 2 we shouldn’t win(SF, GB, SEA, NOx2). Saints might not have anything to play for in week 17 which would help. That Bucs loss in week 2 is looking like it could really cost us.

If we can’t get one win out of SF, NOx2, GB, or SEA then we have no business being in the playoffs anyways. Those are the teams we’d be facing, obviously. I think we’ll win 2/5 of those games. Winning 3 or 4 would have me thinking this team has a shot to make it to the SB.

@49ers is the only one that has me concerned right now.. The rest are winnable, but obviously not guaranteed.

I don't think the 49ers are as good as the record suggests.  Kinda put them and Patriots in the same tier.   Good but not as good as their undefeated record suggests.  Both the undefeated teams have played a lot of dysfunctional bad/teams to built their records.   And if not for a hurt QB we probably would be 6-0 too.

We absolutely HAVE to at beat at least two of these: SF, SEA, GB

We need to at least split with NO

We need to beat ATL x2

We need to win against WAS, and should with no problem.

The IND and the TEN game are other games that we should win, but a loss there wouldn't be as crushing as any of the games above. We need at least 1 W here.

I agree that 14-2 is the goal. Realistically, I think the best to hope for is 11-5

Worst case playoff scenario is that we go 9-7 and hope like hell the Rams, 9ers, and 'Hawks beat the hell out of each other in their division and we sneak in on a #6 seed over one of those teams.

Absolute apocalypse scenario I would think still means we're 8-8 at worst.

Call me crazy (you won't be the first) but I think we could sweep the Ain'ts this year. Kamara isn't playing well (I know, he is on my FF team) and Teddy Bridgewater is no Drew Brees. Our defense is looking tough and CMC is having a season for the ages.

I think Brees will be back for both our meetings though.  Are first game is week 12 and Brees already predicted to come back by possibly week 8

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
