By watching NFL football for the past 20+ years. I'm not saying that Kyle Allen definitely won't prove to be a quality starter long-term, but history is stacked heavily against it.

I don't know.  I would say starting 5-0 without an interception bodes well.

Regardless a healthy Cam is a better player right now and for the forseeable future.

This is quite possibly the most ridiculous post I have seen...bravo man

Wait...maybe you are talking about Allen.  If so of fuggin course

LOL! You've fallen in love and nothing can convince you otherwise. I remember my first beer and crush.

I'm just saying to maybe not buy that diamond ring just quite yet.

I still don’t get why him admitting to playing on a bad foot is a good thing. He hurt the team and cost us a win. He was awful and should have taken himself out. He finished 18-43 against that same 32nd ranked pass D.

Its not a good thing

He admitted later and rightfully got criticized for it.

It still doesnt chage the fact that he plaued hurt those 2 games, hence why he was off

People don’t understand that your Tom Brady’s, Kurt Warner’s are rare, with Tom being maybe one of the biggest anomalies in all of sports

the most logical approach is to wait and see what Allen does with a larger sample size, to Say you’ve seen enough for us to hand the keys of the franchise over to Allen after 5 games is asinine.

There’s a lot more of these guys that end in being a flash in the pan than ones that go on to have great success in the nfl, I hope Allen is the anomaly because it would be a terrific situation to be in, but I also hope we aren’t dumb enough to cut bait with cam until we are 99.9% certain he is

Allen has played impressively for five games in, is improving,  and definitely has the the offense humming.  But, Cam is the best quarterback this franchise has ever had, and if he is healthy and can practice through the bye, I'm excited to see him vs SF because he is simply better than Allen is now, when healthy.

That’s why that video wasn’t good at all for me. It came off as I don’t want to be overshadowed by Allen so let me admit I was hurt and shouldn’t have played. We’d easily be 5-1 and be in much better shape. There’s so many playoff contenders that at 4-2 we are still out of the playoffs due to two NFC losses. Not saying we can’t make it but we’re just now getting into the hard part of the schedule.

There are only two things bothering me about Cam right now. Hurting the team by playing clearly sub par due to hiding an injury and seeing our offense getting to the line/time management so much faster/better. The second part is IMHO really helping the OL more than people want to admit.

I have no idea what to expect when he gets back but he better be really healthy and I hope he sees how much better we are setup early rather than giving the DL the advantage.

Had nothing to do with being overshadowed

He11 at that point literally the whole fan base were ripping Hurney because our backup QB situation

Dude is just a competitor and thought he could play throught the pain and win.  Which was dumb.

Makes no sense how he couldnt fly to London and home yesterday and now hes 100%. If Cam really is 100% bring him on and start him vs the 49ers. I just hope hes really 100% and not just saying he is just to get back in the game.

Ready to practice after the bye and being 100% now are two entirely different things.  Making bullshit assumptions on bullshit statements often results in threads full of bullshit.  See previous 20, no, make that 40 posts...

I am worried because it sounded like doctors didn't want him standing for 4 hours as of last week.  But if he really is recovered, this is a great opportunity for him to prepare because he will have extra practices to kick off the rust.  I'm excited to see a healthy Cam back on the field.

You aren't wrong about this at all. I guess all we can do is hope. But I see no downside to having two very good quarterbacks available if we are able to get into the postseason. All this petty fan numbskullery pitting them against each other means absolute dick to the team. Anyone who has seen the friendships the quarterbacks groups have had the last several years knows what's up.

Level headed post, one of few.

Not many people can disagree that the Cam of a few years ago was pretty much unstoppable.  The only question is whether a "healthy" Cam label today, will mean the same Cam shows up.  Surgeries, injuries, new throwing motion.  That is all thrown in the pot with the Cam we have today.

I am still hoping we have 2 great QB's on the roster by November 1st.

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
