Josh Norman tonight

Going in I thought the skins would be blown out , especially @ Minnesota and as well as they had been playing the last two games.  So I was pretty impressed with the fight the skins gave them.  I thought their DL played well, AP ran hard.  They were certainly in the game until Keenum went out.  They looked to be playing hard for Callahan.

Obviously was rooting for a Vikings L but even though that did not happen if we stay consistent I like our playoff fight with them.

edit;  skins secondary tackling was horrendous.  at times it seemed they just wanted to lay the viking receivers down for bed.

Norman had one excellent year here and got a lot of attention. As the year went on, the crazier he got (luchador mask at SB press conferences anyone?) and the media fed off of it. And then Josh did, too. He literally got high off his own supply and managed to hype himself right out of town and into the worst football program in the NFC.

The thing is, he was a really good kid who worked hard here and when it all finally clicked for him, he performed great. He got a big head about the whole thing (I blame his youth and his agent) and he just lost his marbles, lost his chance here and then got away from the only coaches that could get him to buckle down and play within a system rather than just freelancing.

Moving to a free safety position might well give Norman a few more years on his career, but has he matured enough to play well in that role?

I agree with a lot of what you said except for the whole youth thing.

Dude wasn't that young when we cut him loose. He was pushing 30. He played 1 and a half seasons of legit great football but people in this fanbase treat him like he was Patrick Peterson or Deion Sanders.

He definitely took a step back in production once he joined the Redskins, but hey, he got paid, and I can't fault anyone for that.

He's been terrible since he's been in Washington.

A few of my buddies who are Washington fans, absolutely hate the dude.

Always been skeptical about resigning Bradberry because, Rivera's zone scheme can make people lool Real good in it then sign elsewhere and look terrible

(I do want to resign Bradberry now but not break the bank)

Did anyone else notice how the Vikings coach LOVES Dalvin Cook and says..."I love Cook, I do not want to overuse him and give him breaks subbing in other backs."  Nice...wish CMC would get his breaks Ronny!!!

McCaffrey is on pace for 432 touches this season...Cook is on pace for 423.  Their backup does get a decent amount of carries, but they're still such a heavy run team that it doesn't lighten Cook's load all that much.

He sucked here more than he was good. 1 hit wonder.  Slow Zone CB who takes chances.  The Skins are the worst at giving out huge contracts for overrated players.

I mean, no, the super bowl year he played one of the best seasons of CB football ever.    No one even tried throwing on him after he had those picks the first few weeks.    He literally shut down his side of the field.   It wasn't just a "good season" but he went into that offseason having a rare, monster year.   We handled that terribly and should have at least sign and traded or used him for one year.

Also dude is on a terrible team and has some injuries.   If we signed him back I have no doubt we would have had 2-3 more great years at least out of him, and more importantly FAR less issues in the secondary and not having to draft 234324 people to try to plug the hole he left.    We also lost a lot of swagger and attitude and it showed the next season.

Basically we came out the losers in the whole situation at the end of the day.

And in the process discovered they had another really good running back.

Unfortunately, we'll never know what we have in Bonnafon or Scarlett - until CMC is injured.

We replaced him with James Bradberry who's better and significantly cheaper.

Wouldn't call that a loss.

He's not better than Josh was that year.    Bradberry has been good and great this year, but not Norman great from that year and also isn't even CLOSE to the ball skills (in fact he's pretty bad at that).    It also took many draft picks to get lucky and find one.    We most definitely lost because we could have either traded him for something or kept him for a year, which the following here we had really bad secondary issues.

Norman was a flashy player which inflates people's opinion of how good he actually was.

Bradberry is a quiet player which makes people fail to see how good he actually is.

Either way, I'll take a guy who's consistently good for several years over a guy who was really good for one season and then only decent for the rest.
