Any optimism for next season?

Under every coaching change in Carolina, we have at lest been competitive in the first year and in most cases,  a force to be reckoned with in year two.

This is a poor question at the moment. We have no head coach or front office hires yet. We have not made any substantial moves regarding players and the draft has not happened. 

How could we be optimistic or otherwise lacking all of those inputs?

I really believe Tepper will lead us to consistent winning and SBs one way or another.

i certainly don't feel dread, and if you feel that way over something you literally have no control over, and if you attach your self esteem to how good the team is ir not, remove yourself from the situation, unplug, and seek help

Its certainly possible. Think about how many games we lost by not being able to punch it in from inside the 2 yard line. Especially if Cam comes back healthy and we add some key missing pieces, things could improve significantly. Things often sway quite a bit from year to year in the NFL. I wouldn't say I'm optimistic, but it is possible.

It isn't unheard of for a team to go from the bottom to playoff contention.  The way the NFL is designed this happens quite frequently

It will be at least 3 years before the Panthers ever sniff the playoffs again...………….odds are 5 to 8 years.

I expect a 2 year rebuild with year 3 being very competitive (Similar to the 49ers). I trust that Tepper won’t rush a rebuild and allow this organization to grow correctly and put the pieces where they need to go

Good question-impossible to answer now.  I always think we have a chance to win the SB on paper.  So when we put that paper on the field against scissors, we find that they are not as great as their hype.

Paradis is a good example.  Marty had to feel good about that signing.  I did.

Then you have the implosion of "Inaction Jackson" and the reality surfaces about Samuel (one of our top 2 WRs).  Turner turns to mush and Little can't keep his head out of the grinder.   This is why competition is so important---it makes you better at practice, deeper, etc.  So to examine the roster, take a look at the depth---we had none.

Yet I continue to believe that we can fill all the holes and be competitive next year.   We will have a high draft pick, a bit of cap room, and some young guns will step up in year 2 (Little, Burns) with better coaching.

I'm an eternal optimist.  I think if we work the free agent market well. Little and/or Daly improve at LT, stay healthy, get Cam back and get a fresh scheme offensively and defensively.  We'll have a shot.  A lot of ifs but why not think positive.

yeah i'm optimistic.   of course i am.  optimistic that we're starting on a better path.  the one we just got off led to a cliff. how could i not be?

I'm optimistic that Tepper is a year wiser and hoping McDaniels or Rhule is the choice to turn this franchise around. If Bieniemy gets the job, I'm optimistic that we get the 1st overall pick next year

I believe in Cam Newton.  Let's get healthy, get a coach who can fix our defense, and we can have a winning team.
