Reports: Matt Rhule finalizing deal to be Carolina Panthers HC

There is always much controversial traffic on the Huddle about anything Panthers. Everyone looking to outdo other Panther fans with snide remarks or just disrespectful intent. I hope that one day we can stop following the media and pushing their opinions and just discuss Panthers information with respectful rhetoric.

I've never been much of a college football fan, so I don't know much about Rhule or any other college football coaches. I do know that I wasn't crazy about McCarthy and not crazy about Rhule either although I am more excited to break the definition of insanity - continuing to do what you've always done, you'll get what you'll have had. We've changed coaches and coordinators before but we didn't see a difference on the field. I'm looking for a change.

I really don't have a strong opinion either way.

I am glad that Tepper hired a guy fits the mold of what Tepper claimed to want in a HC. Offensive guy - check. Innovative - check. Embraces analytics - check.

If he'd talked about all that stuff and then hired say Mike McCarthy then I'd really be scratching my head.

All in all, Matt Rhule is pretty much exactly what Tepper described when taking about what he was looking for in a HC

I'm an avid college fan and still cant tell you much about him. I know he turned Temple and Baylor around, but we waxed them in the Sugar Bowl missing 13 players. I think he has a losing record against top competition, but again those schools are bringing in elite talent either.

I am gonna give yall some poo though....he blew a 28-3 lead to Oklahoma this year. We are now blood brothers.

    • The league would protect him.  The amount of poo Jerry Jones has had exposed and got away with?  The amount of poo Stephen Ross has got away with?  How long Dan Snyder got away with essentially fuging sex trafficking employees and poo???????  Taking down JR was a hit job.  You think the other 31 owners, especially the older ones aren’t blathering, blatant, ignorant ass, bigoted rich racists who have committed far worse things than Blue Jean Fridays?  The ones I named above have DEFINITELY did worse than what JR was accused of.  And do you think guys like Steve Smith would’ve been viewing him as a father figure if they felt that’s who he was?  JR pissed the league off with that last lockout situation and they made him pay.  They lined a new guy up to join their billionaire boys club in Tepper, and they prolly slid a pretty penny to Jonathan Jones to write the “expose,” to get JR out of here.  Again, all the owners I’ve listed above have been verified on record for doing worse poo, yet they’re still running their organizations, unquestioned.  They hand-picked Tepper long before JR was forced out, so he isn’t going anywhere.  Sadly.  fug the NFL.  (Also, to be clear, it’s always fug racism, bigotry, and sexual exploitation - not ever excusing it.  Just making the point that the NFL isn’t operating under this clear standard of justice applied to each and every case)
    • I was still in the throes of a contentious divorce and my job at the time had me work on Sundays.  At the beginning of the season I tried to still work around Sundays so I could see our games.  I think after Bryce came back from the benching, I said fug it.  First time in my life I intentionally didn’t watch our games, even through the Atlanta finale.  In the past, even if we didn’t live up to expectations, I would watch to still support and at least analyze player development, strengths and weaknesses, coaching, etc., but Bryce makes all of that a moot point, so I stopped watching. Again, this is asinine,  it if he is retained (still can’t believe this is even a possibility of a conversation due to how shitty our organization has become under Tepper), I will NOT watch next season until he is gone.
    • Live look at Bryce playing ping pong.
