I mentioned this the day it was announced....makes too much sense.  Us parting ways probably had more to do with money than anything.  No way we were going to pay Greg 11 mil this year.  Hurney prob asked him to take a pay cut, he refused, so parting ways was the only move to make.

Said it before, Ron did a good job of creating a comfortable team....just not a winning team.

Olsen just wants to be happy and leave on his own terms, which is exactly how Rivera wants it to be. ..a bunch of happy players leaving on their own terms after a long career.

Guy is only good for a few games a year anymore at this point. Was time to move on anyways.

I'd rather have a team that was taking risks trying to build a winning franchise than just a bunch of players just waiting to to retire.

If Greg plays next year, really don't know if it will be to chase a ring.  A lot of the teams listed above either wouldn't have a need for him, or have their own question marks going into next season.

Something tells me he wouldn't want to be away from or uproot his family for the entire season either.  Broadcasting would give him some more flexibility I'm sure.  So if he's playing, going to be for a team that's only a short trip away (Washington or....Atlanta if no Hooper?).

Irresponsible reporting as usual. Just as likely to play for the redskins as 30 other teams.  Much less so if he’s smart and is just chasing a ring.

Anyone who is on the verge of a championship probably has a better, younger TE option. I suppose he could offer to play for peanuts as a backup, but most teams will be able to do better. He just isn't the same anymore.
