So is it less worrisome to die from the regular flu than this Coronavirus?

23k deaths from normal flu, including small kids.

China, the most populous country on earth is pretty much through theirs now with 32-3300 deaths.

So is it a lack of perspective?  China loses only 3300 but the US will lose 1.7 million?

China took super aggressive containment measures. If people would just listen to the damn social distancing guidelines we could greatly reduce the spread, but Americans be all like YOLO! still gonna do what I do!!!

I'm not sure he is wrong. All the stats I can find capture the 10-19 range. And the only country i can find who have deaths in that range is China. Maybe you have different sources.

I don't think he is wrong about the deaths. The issue with his premise is that young kids by and large have very mild symptoms making them likely to continue going to school as carriers and spreading this thing like gasoline driven wildfire. That's the problem.
