I think if you played baseball the experience is different than the casual fan. There are intricacies to the game that the casual fan might miss.  I was a pitcher in hs and college so I watch what they do pretty intently. Although I stopped watching the game the past several seasons because of all the cheating, I’ll probably watch this year.

I played growing up and I like playing it but not watching it. I can watch it but unless it is my team and a meaningful game it gets boring after a while. But that is just me.

No. I'm a sports fan. Baseball is a less athletic version of bowling.

The act of batting and hitting a baseball well (or fast-pitch softball in many ways the same) off of an MLB-level pitcher is, IMO and IME, the most difficult individual act in sports. Lots of things right behind it but nothing else quite as complex.

Wow, I can't believe all the hate for baseball. I absolutely love it, and of course I miss it. Baseball certainly has its own rhythms, but to call it boring is purely subjective, of course. From my perspective, baseball is full of drama and intensity. To be fair, I played it for a long time, but there is so much nuance and strategy to appreciate that I could never see it as boring.

I mean, I love football to obviously, but it's not all action all the time either. 3 hours can be condensed into 45 minutes or so. The rest is the same type of "standing around" those who don't like baseball complain about.

I get where you are coming from, but baseball is a different kind of watch. It isn't like the NFL. It's more of a casual bullshit with your friends in the garage and drink beers as you look up and see the score every once in a while kind of watch

Yep baseball is something you throw on your small garage tv while working on your car or some other project. I could never sit down and watch a baseball game straight through only paying attention to that. With football it’s hard to take my eyes off of the game. I can watch basketball and hockey games in full too without losing interest. Soccer and baseball, not so much.

No because Manfred is a cuck and destroying the game.

The Astros should be banned for the bullshit they pulled but they got a slap on the wrist.

So you are of the opinion that the Stros are the only ones using technology in a bad way?

This is golf for me. I can't sit down and really watch golf, but I like having it on in the background while I'm getting other stuff done.

It is more exciting than soccer, but just barely. Puts it's watchability right around that of pro golf, pro cornhole leagues, pro poker and paint drying.

I never could get into soccer and hockey. As a football/basketball player and fan, those games just look like sloppy as hell turnover fests to me. I just grew up watching and playing sports where possession matters a lot that I can't appreciate sports where it doesn't. They just don't make sense to me. I at least respect hockey though even if I'm not a fan. That's a real damn sport no matter how you slice it. Soccer... meh, I hate it. In large part because I feel like the flopping that has long been a part of that sport has massively invaded the sport of basketball and greatly degraded the quality of a game that I would've once ranked above football in terms of my fandom and interest. Now I basically just watch UNC games and that's it. I couldn't even tell you the last time I watched an NBA game.
