With Eli Apple on IR, Troy Pride will likely start

Regarding Bene, can't forget that with the 2016 season our DE rotation consisted of CJ, Super Mario, and then Kony Ealy & Wes Horton. Not exactly the best scenario for a DB group that just lost its superstar player (JNo fiasco), its elder statesman (Tillman retired), its vocal leader (Boston was IR'd), AND Bradberry went out on the first series iirc (toe issue). This was also Vernon Butler's rookie year, so that was basically like having nobody on the field except for ST.

That left the team with Daryl Worley (gross), Leonard Johnson (nickel), Zack Sanchez (lol), Teddy Williams (special teams), Lou Young (practice squad extradanoire) and Bene Benwikere (returning from a broken leg).

How that man was not going to get cooked is beyond me. (∩`-´)⊃━炎炎炎炎炎

I'm actually fairly excited to see how the team develops over the course of the season. Troy Pride Jr is about to get baptized by fire and Donte is going to prove whether or not he deserves to be looked at as a CB1 in the league. We've got a young, super stacked DL though this go around and while we don't have Luke, we still have Shaq and a vet presence in Tahir Whitehead who has done nothing but be solid.

This year is a learning experience where they're expecting to win. I'm gonna back the train and pull for em. :3

Damn Newbs with their gloom and doom predictions.  How hard is it to go to a discussion board for a team that is in the midst of a coaching change, pandemic, 60% roster overhaul, and predict hard times?  These guys have to be psychics.  Tea leave readers. Crystal orb foggers. Maybe some could help detectives solve some cold cases while they are in town.  Jeez.

You mad? Triggered? What?

Damn. Who is covering the slot? Who will be a cb if one gets injured over the first three weeks? Is it too late to call peanut, Chris Gamble, or Ricky Manning JR? Are we going to be forced to watch another Julio game with over 300 yards? I can’t take that again.

I always felt that Bene got unfairly scapegoated for that. Hell, he even admitted that he wasn't really back into football shape yet returning from that nasty leg break.

I don't know a team that has a worst CB situation. With our LBs teams are going to run through, around, and over us this season.

Our CBs are abysmal, but teams will not be able to run on us.  Whitehead is not great in coverage but is good against the run.  Our DL is much improved against the run, KK is back and both Brown and Matos are run defenders. I feel if we lose this season it will be in the secondary and not against the run.

I’m kinda excited to see what we can get we know he’ll take his lumps but is there a time we end up with rookies who can really preform. We have pieces in place to rush the qb well from the outside and inside. With that type of pressure you just have to be able to hold your own nothing special. He’ll get beat but will he make a few pbu’s? Will he have a tip that leads to a interception as long as he not constantly getting burnt I’ll see it as a positive getting early experience. If he ends up on Ruggs I’d expect rookie vs rookie he’ll be able to make a play. I’m also expecting help from Boston who’s an above average free safety.

Dude no offense, but your post above is pretty out of place and just whiny in general.

Dude?  How did you know that I am a Dude?  I am!! I am a "dude."  Gosh.  You're amazing.  Tell me, when are you and Ted having your next big adventure?
