The guy who helped them take the best team in the league to overtime against our secondary?

Yeah, sure.

He made a crucial bone headed decision that led to KC’s last TD instead of building the lead. The D was the big reason they almost won. Herbert, like at Oregon, had way more yardage to TEs/RBs than WRs. Not saying he played poorly but probably is a different result if KC doesn’t only have 10 points going into the 4th. Definitely way too early to crown him. He’s a guy who needs a solid D.

Without CMC on the West Coast against that DL, I don’t see us doing a heck of a lot.

Without CMC it's difficult to envision us beating anyone, so I agree. If we're bottom 5 with CMC we're rock bottom without him.

Easily the worst defense in the NFL. Bottom 5 offense without CMC. Rookie coaching staff. Yea, 32nd seems right.

Herbert was solid that game, but the Chargers team around him is actually pretty damn good. Biggest reason that game was close was the pressure they put on Mahomes and the job their secondary did against the Chiefs weapons. I don't see us beating either Herbert or Taylor, but every rookie QB is at risk of putting up a truly terrible multi-INT game at any time, so I'd say we do have a slightly better chance against Herbert than against Taylor.

Worse than the Jets? Nah. Not much better at this point, but not worse.

Adam Gase tends to coach his team to some wins after his team is more or less eliminated from the playoffs anyways, so I don't think they'll wind up competing for Lawrence

Again though, how many times have we watched the Panthers make rookie quarterbacks look like future stars?

The hope, of course, is that Matt Rhule breaks that tradition.

Yeah I hear you but maybe his nerves hit him harder preparing all week.  I am just saying in general our best case to win will be against a rookie qb

I don't think we could win if Clausen started for them. All they have to do is hand the ball to Ekeler and Kelley, and/or occasionally throw to Allen, Mike Williams, and Hunter Henry none of which we can cover. They limited Mahomes somewhat, I don't think they'll have trouble with Bridgewater.
