Would Trading Shaq to Seahawks Be An Option?

'Hawks are in win-now mode and have a window to get a ring or two. Irvin and Blair just went down for the year with injuries this past weekend. After trading for Adams and the style of defense that is run, would Shaq be a move that we could capitalize on?

Shaq played at UW as well, so it's kinda like bringing home a local kid....even though he's actually from Sacramento.

For us, we can take a mulligan on Hurney's overpaying and probably maximize Shaq's return due to the situation Seattle is in.

I would hate to see a young talented player go somewhere else and be the player we thought he would be here.

The elephant in the room for me is figuring out if Shaq can be "the man" like we envisioned, or is he better as a complimentary player that looked good in a unit with Luke and TD.

It would also deplete the hell out of our already struggling linebacking corps and we would have to double-dip in '21 to make up for it. Our LBs have looked god awful outside of Chinn. Now, I do think if we would've added a LB like Littleton or we draft Parsons or Moses in 2021, Shaq could be back to who we think he is.

This move would be more about remedying a Hurney overpay and maybe getting a shiny asset and open up cap space moving forward.

Seahawks don't have a 1st round picks in the 2021 or 2022 draft or a 3rd rounder in 2021. So your best bet is they would maybe give up a 2nd rounder which would be very late in the round since they're likely a playoff team. With who we have drafting, do you trust that we would be able to patch up another hole this would leave with a late 2nd rounder?

A 2nd? For an overpaid LB. when they just drafted a similar player(Brooks) and still have Wagner and Wright. That’s delusional.

I didn't say I think they'd get it, I said at best....for this hypothetical scenario the OP brought forth that doesn't make sense for either side

    • I can always count on yout to put things so delicately lol. I'm still not sold on the fact that Tepper will make them keep him if they don't see him as a long term answer.
    • holy poo... this thread inspired me to keep trying to guess passwords to various alts I've created over the years and I finally got in! I pretty much accepted my fate as a lurker for the last several months because I could not remember my password. I didn't realize that new users couldn't join either, that explains things. I have been around for years under several different monikers, through the good and bad. I too always find myself coming back here even with all of the new social media options for Panther fan engagement. It's simply nostalgic.   I do get extremely annoyed with the same 5-10 posters shitting on Bryce and complaining about everything. It's unfortunate that half of them are mods and that nobody new can join because now I pretty much just come on here and see Bryce / Panther slander. There is barely any positivity to be had. We all watch this team and hang on this forum for entertainment purposes only. We have no control or say in anything. I used to be such a crazy ass fan that would argue with strangers about Cam newton on the internet and at games. Now, as a father of 3, a business owner and someone with way gnarlier life problems - I like to watch football and talk about football as an escape. Not to bitch more. I really like the direction of the team and will root anyone in a Panthers jersey. I live down the street from the Rams practice facility, Matthew Stafford is currently coaching his daughters flag football team in the same program I coach my sons. I have two highly ranked Rams staff members sons on my team. The way we beat them and had them on the ropes in the playoffs has me feeling amazing, and you would think we have the next great thing in Bryce with the way they all speak of him. I'm gonna ride that high and be a delusional fan, I hope that huddle can stick around or get fixed and perhaps I will get back to posting more now that I can log in again. I will do my best to not get banned. Keep Pounding!
    • Well, if they know Tepper wants to keep Bryce there is an an implied safety net there in case he fails. A possibility that he will be empathetic and •maybe• not fire them.  If they go against that and bring in someone else and that fails they are in a much worse spot.  IMO.  And another factor may be that after all those years of instability and musical chairs pre Bryce there will likely be a feeling of security in knowing what they have.   Kind of like settling just to keep from going through the process all over again.     IOW I think he really needs to fug up bad to lose his job and change our course.
