Actually they continually mentioned how he was underperforming that season.

They also like to pick and choose, how they are gonna grade that person. For example that Josh Allen grade they lowered his grades cause he missed a few throws vs a decent secondary, meanwhile Darnold was missing reads and throws left and right last Sunday vs an injured niners squad and they took nothing away from that, how come?

Again they have been exposed by numerous other outlets just look it up.

1. Why would PFF be biased against the panthers?

2. For like the 10th time the grading explanation is right there on their site

3. Could you link some of these out outlets that have exposed pff?

I did read your post, and you implied that his lack of sacks was probably hurting his PFF grade and that maybe he was dong his job occupying double teams.

My point is the lack of sacks alone won't ruin a PFF grade like that and if was really doing his job or playing the role they ask , as you implied, his grade wouldn't be that bad.

Also playing poorly is playing poorly, the fact he is a rookie, which hardly no offseason I'm sure is contributing to that, but it doesn't change the fact he is playing poorly.

I was implying that he is likely being graded lower than he should be based on expectations rather than his performance and that he is not as bad  as described. That downgrading him for not getting sacks or pressure may be influenced by the scheme. It wasn't so.much the grade as the dialogue I disagree with or that he is that disappointing.  And no he isn't playing poorly. He is playing typical for a rookie with his experience level.  Anyone who expected him to come in and dominate day one surely doesn't know football.

Cause the guys watching the tape and making the grades are humans with biases, I already showed examples.

Nobody has linked me anything of how their grading system works

They don't grade based off of expectation, they grade off of what the player does.

Being a rookie doesn't absolve him from playing poorly, every player,  rookie or vet, is judged the same way.  Being a rookie might be the reason he is playing poorly but that doesn't change the fact he is playing poorly.

At least that Clemson homer cant say a word. These guys need experience. They are an offseason and 4 games behind.

Pro Football Focus graded Brown 154th out of 155 defensive lineman this season (29.9 out of 100). He did not win a single one of his 27 pass rushes and was not much of a factor in the run defense. The only first-round pick to have a worse grade for the 2020 season after two weeks is Cardinals linebacker, and Clemson product, Isaiah Simmons, (28.4) who was selected just after Brown.

Playing poorly compared to a seasoned vet who is lined up against him or playing poorly compared to a rookie in his same circumstances? That is the point. He is exactly where I expected him to be. And by seasons end I expect him to be much improved and not looking like a rookie.

Re-watching the Raiders game this morning. Brown was super solid. He was often doubled, but won his 1v1 match-ups a majority of the time. Hudson was getting away with a crazy amount of holding when Brown would break through and he had to pivot to help. Especially liked seeing him stack Kolton Miller up into the backfield before stoning Jacobs before he could get to the line.

A more appropriate comparison to Brown would be Javon Kinlaw, not Kawann Short. Both were drafted in the first (Brown @ #7, Kinlaw @ #14). Both have 3 combined tackles (2 solo/1 asst for Brown, 1 solo/2 asst for Kinlaw) after similar snap counts (Brown has less than 10 more). Brown has 2 pass deflections to Kinlaw's 0 and one of those tackles for Brown was the aforementioned TFL which Kinlaw has none of.

The only rookie DT to have outperformed Brown on the stats sheet is Raekwon Davis who had 3 combined tackles in half of the snaps but also had no pressures/hurries/qb hits/pass deflections/TFLs/etc.

I don’t know that he’s a bust but DL is one of the easiest transitions from college to pros and he’s been disappointing for sure. I’d even be fine with the penalties if he was making any plays. Hopefully something clicks for him and he starts playing like a top ten pick

Not sure that is true given that the difference in responsibilities and reads may not be that different but the competition sure is. Now he is going against guys just as big and strong as him with better technique.  What will change is that his technique and range of attacks will expand as he gains more experience. The difference will be noticeable by the end of the year. But it isn't as simple as turning on a light switch or having an aha  moment.
