Leading the NFL - 3rd down receptions

Doesn't surprise me at all. He's been so damn clutch in those situations these last 2 games. Really huge to have him stepping up in that role behind Robby and DJ. We've never had a group of WRs this good in team history, if you ask me. Yes, that includes Smitty/Moose/Proehl.

It's cool how Brady is putting everyone in positions to succeed.

We have a QB without the strongest arm but makes good decisions and is accurate? Dink and dunk my friend.

We have YAC gods on our team in Anderson and Moore? Let's get them the ball in space and let them YAC.

We have a WR/RB hybrid that the defense needs to account for? Run with him, and throw it to him to keep them honest.

This is nice. I'm enjoying this.

Samuel is very good with the ball in his hands and ridiculously fast as well. All three and CMC can make moves and house it on any play. One thing that gets forgotten is that Samuel also has some power like a RB as seen below against the Giants and on a run yesterday against the Falcons where he bounced off a tackler and kept going. It’s very enjoyable to watch.

@kungfoodude my guy is doing his part and helped with missing CMC. Maybe the panther will get a comp 4th for some team over paying him.

I am happy to see us utilize him as a true utility player. His contributions in the run game and passing game have been important the past couple of games.

Credit to Brady for scheming ways to get the ball in hands and credit to Curtis for stepping up and making these plays.

I am not convinced we should keep him around after these two games but he has 11 more games to make his case to the front office.

Against the failcons, he had his best RB runs. The first two without CMC, he didnt do nothing as RB. Just had "questionable" hands and leading the league in 3 down catches, that means the staff/teddy/brady/rhule trust hes going to catch the ball. I excepted more big big plays than 3rd down catches.

heres sportac view on him come 2021. They got him at 7 per, just like me. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/carolina-panthers/curtis-samuel-21781/market-value/

    • interesting podcast. Did my best to summarize  1  none understand why rico isnt getting 100% of snaps 2  dalton  is seasoned veteran  and for this game, could he more of a challenge for bills than young   Better arm and   Familiar with  mcdermott defense.  Has seen everything    Impressed with Tet  and Panthers do not have bad receivers and impressed by size  3  not impressed with bills passed game and Allen is being held back because of it. bills do not seem to have a consistent vertical  passing game  as in past.   No intermediate More Short passes for YAC and that hurts Allen    Could be to control pace and tempo of the game given the bills defensive weaknesses    Need intermediate to stretch zone defenses  4 bills have several returning from DL from suspension this game on defense that could help  5  atlanta beat bills offense by  blitzing  and played ton of man coverage.   No structured intermediate passing game for bills   Bills had no answer for atlanta defense either blitzes and man to man coverage    Rushed 5 or more on over 30% if Allen’s drop backs  6  compliments the panthers defense   Up and coming but has issues. Last in pressure on qb   Last in DVOA and coverage of TEs
    • jesus christ, what weird subforum did I stumble upon where people are talking like Dalton is this incredible back up that is going to throw for 400 yards and 4 TD's like we haven't seen him in this role before, and that there is this master plan to fake Bryce's high ankle sprain in order to bench him during a winning season with favorable stats?
    • It is strange, but no less surreal than him being the 1.1 in the NFL draft.  If I were in the situation the team is in, I would be Not want to aggravate that injury and would be overly cautious. He needs to be fully healthy so he can properly evaluated in these games that are coming up.  They see Dalton in practice, they saw the film from Sunday. Maybe he has looked good enough that they think a side benefit to the caution is getting to look at the offense with a different guy running it.    The worst thing that could come out of it is Bryce is hampered the rest of the season
