What do Sam Darnold, Cody Kessler, Matt Barkley, Mark Sanchez, John David Booty, and Matt Leinart have in common?

Burns is a former FSU DE and they have the same stigma. I have odd draft stuff, but I avoid this one. If you know the position coach, then it becames easier. Some coach gets more out of them than the pro coaches can.

Do Local NY businesses really give our big endorsement contracts?

I just looked at the highest endorsement earners in the nfl and all their money comes from big national and global brands.

Odell makes the most (Nike) and he’s been out of NY for a while now.

It's not the local stuff in NY it's the size of the market.  Companies know that if they can reach more people in that market than they can anywhere else in the US.  Plus, if it's the Jets, they are a huge underdog.  So if you have 1 guy going there and he tuns the team into a winner its a great story and advertisers can sell that.

Look at it this way the Knicks suck and have for years.  They still get all kinds of attention because it's NY.

It would not be the same if he went to the Giants because they have won 4 super bowls since the mid 80's.  They have had good teams.  When was the last time the Jets had a really good team?  The last time they won a super bowl there may be a handful of people on this board that were alive.  They have been so bad for so long and if Lawrence makes them good (plus a much better coach and better players everywhere) it will be a great story and a great way to sell stuff to the American public.  At least that's how I look at it.

Darnold has more talent than teddy but I'm not so sure if he plays the QB position better. I think the plan has been always been to find a QB that can run a NFL offense(neither of which Pj or Grier can do at the moment) until either that guy shows he's a franchise guy or they find someone they love in the draft. With teddy they know that they can wait until the right moment to get a QB like the Chiefs did going from Alex Smith to Mahomes.

That's purely an assumption. You don't pay Teddy the money we paid him to sit on the bench. You play him until it is quite obvious he isn't the answer.  Right now we are leaning towards NOT but not now. While you may be correct about Walker and Grier, if we are out of the playoff picture, we need to give them both a chance to see what they can do.  Real game action with the starting unit.

Worst case scenario none of them have what it takes to get us to the next level and we need to find a new QB room.

The more I think about it the more I would like to have Darnold here with Bridgewater and Brady working him back up again. IF we don't have the chance to get the QB we want in the draft. I've watched probably 50% of Darnolds NFL games. He has the talent but that team just lets him down and hes shaken at this point. I think this is the right coaching staff to help build someone like that back up.
