The Case For Trading the Farm for Lawrence/Fields

Will be interesting to see who the new GM is and what his tendencies are. I don’t know how many more losing seasons Tepper will be ok with, doesn’t seem to me to be the kind of guy who is ok losing if he’s making money.

I personally don’t think trading multiple first rounders is the answer.

I'm not trading jack for any of these question marks when no one can agree who the hell is worth trading up for. I'd rather trade back, get some extra picks and draft someone from the next tier of guys in the event none of the 4 make it to us (e.g. Mac Jones, Trask). But I still think we have a very good chance at one of the 4 even at 9. Also, there's a good chance we move up a couple spots with teams ahead of us potentially snagging wins.

It's a really interesting pool.

I've had the chance to research Ireland, Peters and Dodds so far, and right now it's no exaggeration for me to say I'd be thrilled with any of one of them.

More to come, but it's looking like this could just be a great year to get a new GM.

Put simply the cost is too high to trade for Lawrence.  I do not want fields, as his performance against top competition was super poor.  Maybe the medical scare folks away from Wilson.  I am generally against trading up for or drafting a qb this year, but a trade back into the first for Wilson would be intriguing.  All depends on the cost.  Lots of great talent to be had if we stay put.  Hurney was terrible after the first round, seems Rhule is far better so far, why not let him build quality and depth.

Unless Fields looks a lot better in the playoffs than he did against Indiana and Northwestern, then I'd rather trade the farm for Wilson or Lance.

I’d skip Lance but be fully supportive of moving up for Fields or Wilson.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
