Is anyone else getting the feeling....

I said it before, the coaching staff sets the culture and winning makes it all better as well. Losing today wouldn’t have changed the culture Rhule is putting in place. This team hasn’t looked like the last two teams who clearly gave up at the end of the year. That’s nice to see. Sucks to feel like we might have dropped out of range to replace Teddy which is the key IMHO. We have plenty of weapons and can keep working on the D and OL but we need a 2011 Cam to get excited about.

I wanted us to lose, but I have to admit that I enjoyed seeing the players giving their all. That speaks a lot about Rhule.
I also liked the fact that Rhule and Co. refused to get out coached by Rivera.
it kind of hit me that Rhule (and probably any NFL coach) just has a winning mindset. A top ten pick to them is just a bittersweet participation trophy. They are probably confident enough in their abilities that they probably don’t give a rip about draft position.

I like your optimism but not as confident.  Since Tepper has been the owner, the Panthers have played 47 games and lost 30 of them. They are 17-30 with Tepper as the owner. He has had 3-years to turn this mess around and it has not happened. A few examples of past turnarounds:

In 2001, the Panthers went 1-15 fired Seefart and hired Fox. In 2002, they went 7-9. In 2003, they came within a last second field goal of beating the Patriots in the Super Bowl.
In 2010, the Panthers were horrible and went 2-14..and got Cam. 2011 was only 6-10 but there was optimism and improvement.
I don’t think this Panthers team is an improvement over the 2019 team...It will be an interesting offseason and draft to see where they take this but if they need to start winning more than meaningless games if Tepper wants to be a winner.

They guys we are drafting and bringing in, are playing well.

Chinn, Brown, Pride, basically all the rookies are going to be really good.  RB, WR acquisitions were fantastic.  Not in terrible shape CAP wise.

Next season, we will win 10 games minimum

Dynasty? Yeah I can't go there. The Defense is better than last year. The offense is not there. CMC has contributed little this year, we have no capable TE, the OL is not great and in major flux, we have pretty good offensive skill positions and TB is average. We need a FG kicker. There are still a lot of positions that need upgrading or depth. I like Rhule but this win was a killer. This is a QB league and we just screwed ourselves with a participation trophy. Ask me in 2 years

Our guys were playing hard and are playing for "each other".  This is where Rhule wanted us to be headed.

Picking 8 or 9, we might still have a chance at Fields.  Question is, will we want him?  He needs a big game against Clemson

He goes higher if he has a big game against Clemson. If he's bad against Clemson then he's been bad against all three good teams he's faced. At that point, do we want him?

Put a quality QB on this roster and we are competing for a playoff berth this year. Unfortunately, our chances of adding a quality QB to the roster took a significant hit today.

    • Smith-Wade for me. He has the path to some decent hefty snaps in Evero’s scheme. He held his own last year and improved as he continued to get snaps— If he makes some strides, could be a very capable nickel.  I agree with Sanders. Bryce had some trust in him that final Falcons game post crazy head-stand.  Bryce looked for him a lot that final game and made some critical catches to get us the W. Seems he’s put in major work so I’m hopeful about him.  Wallace will have an offseason under his belt. I like him a lot, was higher graded than most remember in his draft (I.e Brugler had him LB3/70 overall) but he isn’t as cerebral of an LB as we’re used to. I think he could thrive if we get D captain/film-junky type next to him— because right now that’s Jewell.  Still a bit cautious but love the talent. Rozeboom may snag some playing time from him if he’s still working out the kinks.
    • Didnt Canales already say starters are playing in the pre season? either way extra reps dont hurt but im not one of those people that think playing in the pre season would have saved Bryce from an awful start.
    • very helpful.  I read back in this thread where they might try Jarvis at C--I thought he and Aho had good chemistry, however.  Nonetheless, he could expand his value there, and now we have a guy who can play jarvis' spot.  Freddie is a pro, no doubt--and as little as I know about the inner workings of strategy and positions, I could tell Burns was burning us at times.  I figured he'd retire and I was looking forward to it.  FWIW, they have Jarvis listed as a C on the 2025-26 roster.
