I offer you some hope

There’s a very good chance we are picking higher than 9 when the dust settles. I do t see us beating New Orleans and Tampa could sit their players and ATL could win that game....not to mention other teams above us winning.

Hope for a QB is not lost. Good chance one of the Big 4 QBs is there for us at 7 or 8. No guarantees,  but everyone acting like the sky is falling after winning yesterday needs to pump the brakes.

It was nice dreaming of Sewell or Fields/Wilson in a Panthers uni, but we will still draft a stud player whether at 3 or 9.

Winning yesterday hurt us option wise, but I really don't think you'll see all 4 QBs go Top 10.  I mean...has that ever even happened? Even in 2017, Mahomes goes 10 as the 2nd QB, Watson at 12. Some teams that aren't completely sold on getting rid of their QB, or can't, like the Falcons are going to take Parsons/Chase/etc.  It will make more sense for some teams to go Jones/Trask.

If we want Fields/Wilson we probably trade up, but Lance will be there unless teams just get THAT QB hungry this year.  Would also be a great time for Deshaun Watson to demand a trade from the Texans sinking ship and solve our issues.

I wish I knew what our scouts thought of him so I knew what to root for. If we don't care for him, I hope he lights it up. If we really like him, I hope he disappoints.

It's kinda counter intuitive. Because if he doesn't perform well people were right. I much rather be making that decision between him and Sewell than if he would drop to us now.

    • Context: 3 of those 6 are against Denver, KC, and Philly.  All top 5 defenses. Dalton looked great in one game.   Bryce is not a franchise QB at the moment.  But he looks like he COULD be one based on the way he is playing.    And there is nothing baffling about being excited by that.   (*and this isn't even getting into the countless drops we've had*)
    • I'm much more inclined to keep Bryce than trade him for another rookie QB.  I think Canales has actually done a really good job of getting Bryce back to who he was at Alabama.  Bryce does continue to have physical limitations, but he's definitely playing better. Is Bryce perfect?  Nope.  Does he have a lot of things to "clean up" as the Panthers are fond of saying?  Yes he does.  If he gets better in this areas, will he become a better pro QB?  I think so.  Will that make him a top 10 QB?  Maybe? The thing about QBs is you need to be patient.  They all need support.  Once they find a guy, they always talk about surrounding him with weapons.  Bryce is no different.  Everyone needs a supporting cast.  Look at the Buffalo game yesterday.  Allen made some crazy good plays!  His runs, throwing some crazy good balls!  He really showed his bag of tricks.  But Allen didn't catch those balls, he didn't play defense, and he didn't play special teams.  Wins and losses are far too often associated with QBs when they are as much a team issue.  You can have a QB have a great games, but if the other parts of the team don't come through, it's still a loss. I think the Panthers have to give Bryce next year before they really start considering if he's the guy for the long term or not.
