UNPOPULAR OPINION

Call me crazy but I think Tepper is all in on Lawrence. Hometown kid. Great building block for the new era of Panthers football. Amazing talent. The question is what do you think he’s willing to pay or do you think someone in Lawrence’s corner can convince him to pull a Eli. Deep down Lawrence knows the Jags will not be the best for his development or marketing. The only thing they have going for them is no state tax. Hopefully they hire a coach that isn't offensive minded or has a good track record to further sour Lawrence’s view of the team. Yes it would cost an RGIII like ransom to get up there but I honestly think that Tepper thinks it’s worth it. 75% of you will disagree but just think of the return on this risk, just 1 Super Bowl win is worth it imo and I can’t be the only fan dying for one.

No way the Jags give up the chance to draft Lawrence. With that being said I would trade whatever it takes to get him if they were open to it. Cam completely changed our franchise and brought years of excitement to our team. We knew we always had a chance each year with him under center. That’s the impact franchise QBs have on a team and I hope we come out of the draft with one no matter who it may be.

Mind you we probably wouldn't have had Star, Luke, Norman and God knows what else had we had to trade up to 1 to take Cam. Would we we have ever made a Super Bowl. I think not.

He's from Tennessee and grew up in Georgia. He's not a hometown guy.

I know you love technicalities but I think most people know he’s from GA. Outside of the Falcons, we are clearly the closest team considering where he was born, raised and went to college. Most people equate him to Clemson and SC is very much in the fan base of the Panthers. Heck, he’s played multiple games already in our stadium.

He’s not Sam Howell hometown, but you could still qualify him as from the area. Maybe the Falcons will try to get him since they’re closer in pick and distance.

I have never visually witnessed a Panthers fan in my 12+ years of working around Clemson.
