DJ Moore graded out as the 24th best WR according to PFF

It would be interesting to see what DJ would do if we had a legit franchise QB on the roster. We know he can get deep, but he's also an excellent runner after the catch. He'd be an all-pro candidate if he had Brady, Brees, Rodgers, or Mahomes throwing the ball to him in stride. 

Still that ranking isn't terrible. Each team will usually have 2 WR's on the field at all times...some even use 3 for the majority of the snaps. If we multiply 32 x 2 we get 64. The PFF ranking place DJ well above the top 50% in the league (24/64=37.5%)

I just hope we can get him a QB before he decides it's time to move on to greener pastures.

To be fair, Adams is much better in the red zone. The red zone is where Moore can stand to improve the most but Teddy is absolutely not the right fit to help him do that. Teddy's limitations as a QB are most evident in the red zone.

Who throws the ball has nothing to do with how PFF grades receivers. It's based on a play by play and individual basis, and graded on if the receiver had a positive play, a negative play, or a neutral play. 

If DJ had to make a dope ass catch because Teddy threw it like crap, he would be rewarded.

Adams was the best WR in the league this year. His route running is Elite and he caught anything thrown near him. 

DJ's routes are OK, and he did fine but Adams was a monster all year.

You're not thinking it through.  There were plays there for DJ that Teddy simply couldn't or didn't make.  Those don't figure in to his grade from what I understand.  The grades are based on plays where he was actually the target.

This is why an NFL arm is required to allow DJ to really be his best.  There were numerous examples of plays where DJ was in great position to make a big splash play and Teddy didn't even look at him.  An NFL arm will really make that offense scary because the deep threat is 100% real with our WR's.

      In May of 2026, it looks like a challenging schedule...and it probably is.  I rarely listen to the "strength of schedule" conversations that light up social media this time of year. Each year teams improve and decline. I think there's chunks of the year we need to take care of business and the week 5 bye is not desired.  I do think if we don't hit the bye week at 3-1, it's going to be a major uphill battle given the schedule in front of us. This season falls on three people, regardless of schedule strength: Canales, Bryce, Evero.  Canales: Finally can truly coach all aspects of the team and not focus with gameday prep for OC duties anymore. He drives the bus and needs to get these guys in position to win each week. There's no way vets come in and put it on the line every week to watch our QB sh!t the bed (See: SF game last year). Bryce: Despite everyone's obsession with thinking Bryce is a guaranteed extension, I think this year will truly be his "prove it" year. If he comes out the way he has the past three years, I really don't see how vets and coaches can continue to put him under center long-term. He might play out that fifth year as the starter, but I think next offseason his long-term replacement is found. I also think there's no excuses with the weapons and commitment we've made on offense to insulate him with every possible weapon.  Evero: Best personnel he's had since he's been here...no excuses. Figure out how to blitz effectively. Figure out how to use CBs whose strengths are press/man. Figure out how to utilize a talented front-7 to get the hell of the field. Outside of FS and maybe....maybe ILB, there are few weaknesses on this unit.

      Canales can never get his teams ready in the first week of the season so far. Hope that changes or Ben Johnson is going to take his azz to school.
