Do we really need to watch Devin White to know that a good mlb can have an impact? Did you watch Luke Kuechly in the 2015 playoffs? He had 2 pick sixes in the first 2 games. The man at his peak was unreal. Asking him to carry our entire dismal defense after years of concussions in 2019 wa not fair. Give him even a halfway decent defense so he doesn't have to cover the entire field and he dominates. Those were the days

Totally agree. A lot of people have been saying recently that LB is a dying position and not valued.

It would be nice to get a great mlb.  But if Drew Brees could throw like he could even a couple of years ago, it wouldn't matter.

It absolutely is not that we don't need better LB play, it is that the position is far less relevant (arguably the least important position on the defensive side of the ball right now). Yes White had a good game tonite and made a number of great plays. That's one player in one game. Evaluate the play of ALL defensive players in ALL games this season and tell me MLB's don't make just about the least impact on the game for their side of the ball.

We definitely need an upgrade at MLB. I am fine with it being a solid 4thish round pick who isn't flashy or Pro Bowlesque but gets the job done. Micah Parsons seems very talented. Our needs at positions of far greater impact overall argue strongly against him or any other non pass rushing LB in the 1st.

Thats fine in all, but where are the DBs to cover these elite receivers? Because the blue chip LB sure as hell can't do it. Remember this was always was an issue even with having luke all those years. A great LB would be nice im just not interested in going down same failure path.

They actually have a defensive line though. MLBs only look good with decent D Lines. 

Case in point Luke's last year. MLB's can only do so much.

Also, Brees hit a wall and doesn't throw downfield anymore. great MLB's are good against noodle armed old men.

We need an impact player at LB. Shaq is good, but you don't to game plan for him. If we don't feel comfortable with a QB at the 8th spot, I wouldn't have a problem picking an impact player at MLB or OLB (although I'd prefer a CB).

As you can see I mean "impact player". I'm talking a Kuechly, Singletary, Urlacher type to man the middle. Or, a Derrick Brooks, Jack Ham, etc.  type on the outside. All the above could tackle and make plays in pass coverage...something you desperately need in today's pass happy game.

Al Davis use to say certain players "tilt the field". They automatically give you an edge just be suiting up each week. If one of those type of guys is there at 8 I think a LB would be a good pick if we have doubts about a QB on the board when we pick. Jermaine Carter JR is stepping up. Draft a guy with our high third round pick and let them compete to play next to Shaq Thompson, with Chinn coming down. We need a QB round 1 and an olineman round 2. Lucky for us this is a LOADED ILB class!
