just search the forum man. It was a link someone led with on a thread. I shouldn't have to disprove your disbelief. I am sure someone else here knows what I am talking about bc it was posted last week. There was a screenshot and a link.

Yes it’s on here I posted it in another thread

I don't think they would take a hugely lesser offer, but they might take a slightly lesser offer. Assuming Watson would sign off on the destination. That's the thing here, he has a no trade clause. They have to sell him on the destination or it's a no go.

You think he's going to come here and exchange for us trading away one of his best weapons or one of our best defenders?

The Dolphins and Jets have way more capital than we do.

Any team that makes this trade, turns his remaining contract into a long term deal. The reason he didnt sign a long term deal with the Texans is because he didnt want to stay there if they didnt prove things were changing. His current is purely a watson friendly deal to keep him in HOU. Now that he would be leaving, that new team (should be smart here) and re-write the deal in form of an extension.

If I were him I wouldn't mention renegotiating the deal. Some fool wanting to make a big impression will drop a bundle on him and ride that out. Or no one will and DeShaun will stay in Houston and make them pay it until they can finally cut him after 2023 for the smaller cap hit.

He's a marvelous player and could make a huge impact for a team like ours. The sticker shock and already openly wanting to leave his first team, make him an unattractive partner with us, in my opinion... especially when we can take one of the upper tier QBs in the first round on a much, much more attractive rookie deal.

very little we discuss on this message board is concrete. You take what you are given and you have a conversation about it.

Yeah but I am just stating that this conversation is about 98% theoretical at this point. If we had half a dozen sports media outlets reporting this rumor, it would be a different situation entirely.

    • I will admit this- Kon doesn't look or play like a 19 year. Much bigger and filled out than I thought he was. Plus initiate the offense during his best quarter and he did make some good passes for FG attempts.   I watch NBA years ago and was a top 3 fantasy yahoo managers for years. Many times a player had like 30 points, it mostly came from one or 2 hot quarters. The others were 5 and 0, so his 16 point game is normal in that regard.    If Ball, bridges, and Miller allow Kon to be apart of the team, just depends on if he clicks of not. Another generic white guy comp popped in my head........he of hornet lore-Gordon Hayward 15 points 5 rebs 3.5 asst Maybe??
    • Here are a couple of links.   Wish I had seen this before this past weekend as appears they had a big fundraiser event last week. https://sites.google.com/vollminadvisory.com/thewilmingtonarenaproject/home https://www.wwaytv3.com/wilmington-native-leads-push-for-new-multi-use-venue-to-attract-professional-hockey-team/ https://portcitydaily.com/latest-news/2025/07/13/wilmington-nonprofit-fundraising-for-10k-seat-arena-to-lure-pro-ice-hockey-team/ https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61577145613291
    • Especially with no other major sports in the area other than UNCW basketball and soccer. It's a good 2 1/2 hour drive just to catch a collegiate football game. If this new arena were built I would hope it also includes an Adult League - I would join up and time allowing would be more than happy to help coach some youth teams. 😄
