G-reg must have given Panthers a heads up on his announcement, there's a bunch of stuff on Panthers.com on him already  

or maybe the Panthers had this ready like newspapers and media have obituaries already written for celebs, sports stars, and politicians.

Who knows. Point was Hurney flew down to Miami Super Bowl week to tell Greg in person.

He still was capable when healthy.  He just couldn't help his foot kept exploding the last 3 seasons.
